Universal hotels possible price error

Thanks for the heads up Wayne.

Originally booked via hotelopia, 2 nights in August at RPR Club Level £546.00 after 10% discount as recommended by yourself.

B.A price came up as £374.00. Also 5% via quidco, making it around £355.00.

0% cancellation on hotelopia made it a no brainer.

Icing on the cake, original booking via hotelopia was also via quidco, cashback £63.00 has already been paid.

If my maths are correct, we have paid around £292.00 for 2 nights club level, an absolute steal IMO.

Thanks again and keep em coming.

4 years ago I had a booking with Hotelopia at POFQ, a few months later Disney released low AP rates for AK (around £70/nt) so I cancelled with Hotelopia, I had a £15 cancellation fee but I kept the £23 Quidco:goodvibes

Had a quick look this morning and can't get a better rate for my dates than we got through Hotelopia (£458 for 4 nights checking in on 20th August) :thumbsup2

Which hotel Joh, i can't get a price for RPR for your dates. Good price from Hotelopia though whichever it is.:thumbsup2

We are boojked at RPR Wayne - standard 2-queen room. BA had prices this afternoon for Club Level at RPR, at £543 for the 4 nights.

Hard Rock for our dates was £497.

We were really happy with that Hotelopia price - it even beat the SMSM rates direct with Loews - the only downside was we had to pay it all up front.

Hi Joh.
We booked with Hotelopia too and we are staying at RPR 20-25aug. We might see you there. Is it just you & Fred (Gary)?

Hey Sharon, how cool that we will be there at the same time. It will be me, Gary and Daniel, our youngest (who is 9).

How about you?

Thanks for the info Wayne :thumbsup2 I have today called Universal and cancelled our 2 night stay at the Hard Rock and have since rebooked with BA for 2 nights at the RPR via Quidco.

Originally we were paying $600 inc sales tax for a standard room with 2 buffet breakfasts. Have just paid £187 for a standard room for room only. Once we factor in the breakfast and parking we were still much better off. Even if we rebooked at the Hard Rock the deal with BA worked out so much cheaper.

My dad has just tried to also book a standard room for our dates (26-28 Aug) and the standard rooms are now no longer available at the RPR.

You have to pay parking however you book, even if you had paid $600, crazy. That and the internet fee is the main reason we are not staying there, I might have stretched to £130/nt but not paying another $100 to park the car and go on internet for 3 nights.
I really can't understand them not giving us free parking with our AP. Their loss.

Some dates are not showing in August, still there for other dates I tried though.

Just checked our 2 nights at Portofino Bay and its now £417 and we paid £232. Either they had a certain allocation of cheap rooms or it was glitch.

Hope everyone who wanted rooms got them.

Wowee!! Looks like it was an error - my price has gone up from £350 for 2 nights to £ 515!!!!!

Thanks again Wayne :worship:

Looks like deal over, they fixed the error. Ours dates have gone up from £413 to £667.
Lower price after cashback worked out at £130/nt, new price £211/nt.
Makes OKW look cheap its costing us £117/nt incl all our food, parking and internet. :rotfl:

It's me, Norman & our son Stephen (will be 15 while we're in Disney). We are staying at SSR first from 9-20 Aug. What about you?

Yes it is quite shameful that we pay these prices at Universal- id never pay them in the UK - but it's worth it having a couple nights of luxury at HRH And FOTLP - I do agree about the parking though - disgraceful when your staying there, that you have to pay for the privilege.

Just need to find myself a bargain now, I am looking for nearer £30/nt including parking, internet & breakfast:rotfl2:

hope you find something, thanks again Rachel:)

I just booked, one of our fave places, used to be Country Inn & Suites LBV, now Fairfield Inn after its refurb last year.
Includes Breakfast, WiFi, Parking, fridge, microwave, everything we want for £3.75/night
We had some AA airmiles from our trip last Oct but we were 800 miles short per night so had to contribute $5.93/nt.

Used to be able to pick up this hotel for under £30/nt but since it changed to Fairfield its been nearer £60/nt so a good deal at £3.75:thumbsup2

This is a cracking deal Wayne. You really do work hard for these.
I wish I had the stamina to get these deals :goodvibes

Its become a bit of an airmile trip. Using VA miles to fly out PE for £231.79pp, returning using Delta miles for £3.20 (upgraded to Economy Comfort for an extra £38) Now this hotel airmile deal with AA.
Plus we have £180 of VA vouchers to spend that thay gave us from last years flight, no idea what we are going to spend that on.:cool1:
