Been pricing up hotels today came across Universal hotels on British Airways site far cheaper than I have seen them elsewhere for our dates.
http://www.quidco.com/british-airways-flights-and-holidays/

18th-21st July RPR is showing at £413 less 5% Quidco = £130/nt (Portofino £155/nt)

Same dates direct with Universal $969 or £204/nt

Only downside to booking with BA is a 20% cancellation fee if you find a better price elsewhere (athough can't see it being any lower for July)

Universal board 2012 rates http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2858807

This looks like the stay more save more rates :goodvibes We are getting this rate as we have a 7 night stay.

The BA site comes out £30 cheaper than our rate direct with RPR, before factoring in quico.

Hopefully folks will get this price before I disappears :)

Just changed it into a 7 night res, direct that would be £143/night which is very close to the £137 BA price before Quidco so you are probably correct, another glitch offering the Stay more rate for only 2+ nights.

Still not worth so much to me, hope it helps someone.

Your right Wayne. I've booked direct with Universal and BA are coming out £120 ( 2 nights) cheaper than mine. I've re- checked my dates with Universal and they are still quoting the same price.

Is there anything I can do - I've paid my deposit with Universal - or would it mean I' d lose my deposit if I wanted to re book - hence it wouldn't be worth doing.

You can cancel upto 5 days before arrival for full refund. If you cancel inside 5 days you lose 1st nights (deposit) payment.

CANCELLATION POLICY: The cancellation policy for Central Reservations will be one night’s room and tax if reservation is canceled within 5 days of arrival.

So if I cancel now - they'd refund my credit card back with my deposit?

Sorry to appear abit thick - but it's usual to lose your deposit normally isn't it?

Thanks for that, Wayne. I've just changed my booking for March and saved £88 on our 4-night stay.

Its the reason many people book direct with Universal, you can cancel for full refund or if they release lower prices nearer your trip you can get that lower price applied to your account.

If you book via an agent you have to check what their policy is, for this BA deal its 20% you would lose.

Thank you so much Wayne!!!:worship:

Have saved £125 for a 2 night stay in July!!:banana:

Oooh... Plus the 5% cash back from Quidco :thumbsup2

Have got a real real bargain considering how much you pay as an extra for FOTLP - which is now the reason we book Hard Rock Hotel - £354 Total for 3 people for 2 nights!!!!! Yaay!

Just need to find myself a bargain now, I am looking for nearer £30/nt including parking, internet & breakfast:rotfl2:

:cool1::thumbsup2 Ah thanks so much Wayne for posting this , Ive just booked and saved £180 on our trip to Royal pacific for 3nights in November, and that includes credit card surcharge.
Well done on finding us these fab deals, what a gem:cloud9: and hope you find something, thanks again Rachel:)

What did you get it for in Nov? about £109/night less Quidco?

Glad a few of you have saved some money.:goodvibes

Hi Wayne, it was £432 before the credit card surcharge, dont do quidco, sorry but im a complete worrier about being scammed,
Im one of those people who thinks there is a little man in the computer making it all happen:rotfl2:
My eldest son kept saying- your all right mum, thats it keep going and that was just booking with B.A !
Oh well takes all sorts to make a world:) but im ever so grateful:goodvibes

You don't pay anything to Quidco to get scammed. All you do is go via their site to sites like BA, Been doing cashback with Quidco, Topcashback & Rpoints for over 6 years now, had approx £2,700 back from them. Got £1 last night just for doing a Van insurance search with Gocompare.
Easy for me to say though I am not a worrier.:goodvibes

Would this work out a better deal then getting the 30% off that universal give to armed forces? And is the price they are quoting now for September as good with the glitch? Wanting 2 nights from 26/27 September before we head to SSR

You would have to ring them to get a quote, it depends if they give you 30% off the current rate or they base it on some other rate. On todays website price that would cost you £222 after 30% off. BA rate wound be £187 less Quidco = £178, BA works out £44 cheaper.
It's a while since I saw it as low as £89/nt, looks a very good price to me.

Thanks for this Wayne. I booked PBH for 2 nights from 14/08/12- 16/08 for £232 that's 2 adults 2 teens. Bargain. Looks like prices are increasing this morning.

Original dates I searched have dropped £2 this morning, yesterday £413, today £411. I would think they are related to the $/£ rate to move a slight amount like that overnight.
