PLEASE HELP (& don't tell Disney).....

I'd like to go to Universal for 3 days and stay on property and have my tickets included and maybe even at the concierge level......either before my DIS trip (prior to 12/19/02 or after 1/03/03. I've never been so I don't know where to stay, what packages are available, what discounts are available, etc., etc., etc.......

Can someone please help me?

Call the hotels and ask if any discounts are available for the dates you want. They offer Entertainment Rates, Fan Club Rates, AAA rates, Florida resident rates.

Only Royal Pacific (RP) and Hard Rock Hotel (HRH) offer club level. Portifino Bay Hotel (PBH) does not have club level, but is the more upscale hotel. RP is the most modest in pricing and HRH is at time as much to stay at as PBH and sometimes like the holidays even more on some sites. It's harder to receive upgrades at RP and HRH because there so booked most of the time. You'll find better luck in my opinon w/ug's at PBH. They all have great places to eat onsite and offer great amenties. It's really all up to the experience your looking for. If you want spa services you may choose the PBH, If you want a happening place HRH might be for you if you want value and beautfiful landscaping and a modern cost effective place RP could be in your future.

There are many recent posts regarding entertainment card discounts and fan club discounts. Try a search and you'll get a ton of info! Just remember that "packages" sold by universal will not necessarily be the cheapest, often just the most convenient. Know your options individually (i.e., tickets prices, room costs with and without a discount, etc.) to compare to a "package" price.

Although I have not yet stayed at universal (first trip next spring!), from what I understand you will get quite spoiled with the express passes available to you by staying on-site. It will be like having a fastpass for every ride, all day, without having any time restrictions. You might want to consider doing universal after the disney portion - disney line-ups might be even more frustrating after being spoiled at universal if you go there first.

Check out travelocity, you can get a water view room for up to 4 people for 149 per night...that is the best deal I could find for water view..or call 888-uescape...to see what they can offer you. Maybe there are some specials for your state. I was able to secure a reservation water view, king bed for 119 per night.

good luck!

I also recommend doing universal after disney, as you will be spoiled...the resorts are spectacular, the parks are bright and clean...the employees are there to serve and very, very happy!
