Universal Guests Express Pass

We our going to Orlando later in August. We are staying offsite but I did book one night at a Univeral Hotel so we can get early access and Express Pas for our 2 days at Universal. I know even though the room will not be ready we can "check in" early and get our Express Pass and early entry access.

My question is can I get there early at like 6:30/7:00 am and do this? Or how early can I do it?

Also, would I be able to get up and run over there myself and take care of this while my wife and kids sleep in a little longer and get ready or do they all need to be present?

I am not sure about checking in, but I don't see why you cannot check in as long as you really don't want to be in your room. Call and ask. The Express Pass has a photo on it . You take your room key to a kiosk,swipe your room key, and take a picture. It gives you the Express Pass that you will need to show.

You can get it as soon as you go to the first desk. Your room won't be ready but you can use express pass right away and they will send you a text with your room number.

Okay, that sounds as if I would be able to check in by myself and just get 4 rom keys and go back and get the rest of the clan. Then we would take the room keys to the kiosks and do the photos/Express Pass when we hit the parks.

The kiosks are in the lobby of the hotel, at least they are at the Hard Rock.

Yes to all your questions. Plus, they will take your luggage if you want them to when you check in and keep it until your room is ready.

Enjoy the Express Pass. There's nothing close to it at any other theme park!

Photo cards for express can only be obtained in the hotel lobbies, not at the parks.
