Universal Guest Assistance

I'm sure this has been asked a zillion times. I have been before and seem to remember a pass but it has been 3yrs and many hours of sleep. So does Universal have a pass for children who need one? My daughter is on Oxygen, in the past we have used a stroller as a wheel chair at Disney and I think at Universal as well. This year she is 11 yrs old and way to tall for a stroller. We are also taking my 76yr old mother in-law who will be using a scooter. I know I will need to go to guest assistance to get something. We already bought the express pass for one day but were hoping to save some money for the other 2 days we will be visiting. Sigh! the things mothers have to go through for special needs children.

Thanks. Do you think I will need to purchase the express pass for the other 2 days? Those things are SOOO expensive.

If you get a Guest Assistance Pass from Guest Services, it works as a return time Express Pass. If the waits are over 20 or 30 minutes (depending on the attraction), the attendant out front will write you a return time that is fifteen minutes less than the actual wait time; so say the wait is an hour, you'll return in 45 minutes and go through the Express Line. Unlike the Express Pass, the GAP pass will work at Pteranadon Flyers, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and Ollivander's.

You can always buy the Express Pass at the gate if for some reason Guest Services thinks you don't need one (my family was denied one because our disabled person was already in a wheelchair and the lines can accommodate them).

We were just there last week and got an assistance card for our son. It was no harder than Disney. I did bring a note from the doctor, and had no problem. It looks like a notecard and if the line was long( I think 30 min. Or more), they write down your return time. If it's shorter they let you use it then. I was also told that if it was less than 15, you had to use the regular line.

There are in fact 2 types of GAC - Attraction Assistance Pass and Express Guest Assistance Pass. If the wait is longer than 30 mins they write a return time on the Attraction Assistance Pass. The Express GAP gives immediate alternate queue entrance regardless of the wait time. The Express GAP is harder to get - more so for those who do not understand or have issues with "come back later".
