Universal for New Year

I'm going to be in Orlando for New Year.

Although I've been a regular visitor for over a decade I've never been there for the post Christmas period.

Are there usually any special events/concerts going on at the time ?

What about in the hotels ? I've stayed at the Portofino, and partied at the Hard Rock ( MAN ! Did I PARTY ! ) but have not yet been to the Royal Pacific.

What about special evenings at the bars ?

Do you recommend anything to do for New Year outside the parks ?

It'll be me and my girlfriend .. no kids .. both in our mid to late 20's .. she's never been to Florida before.

I KNOW that if anyone can come up with great ideas .. you guys can.

Yippee, New Years Party at City Walk...again...yeah!!

The party at City Walk New Years eve is amazing. They close off the upper half for ticketed guests (those paying the $99). All the clubs are open, you can go from one to the next or just stay at one. There is food inside and outside each club. There are bars inside/outside....dancing inside/outside. It is excellent!!!

time to make my reservations and by my tickets...yeah!!!

Where do you get the tickets, and is it something that kids (except the bars) can attend?

I always get my tickets at the guest services in city walk, but you could probably call 888-uescape and order them and have them sent to you.

You must be 21 to attend this party...no exceptions, no children. Ideas are checked and re-checked.

MsDis, MIB9's, thing 1 and thing 2 will be at MYTHOS for new years.

I imagine the park will be packed as it was last year and Mythos had arm bands for those eating there to watch the fireworks from the patio.
