Hi there. My family and I are Disney buffs but this time we're leaving the kids home and coming to Orlando to enjoy some adult only time.

I haven't been to Universal in years and was pregnant last time I came so didn't get to do much.

What tips would you give us on where to start, must sees, what we can skip etc? We're doing Universal Studios on Sat & Islands of Adventure on Sun.

One thing we're questioning is doing the water rides and getting drenched- are they worth it?

Any tips/suggestions are so appreciated. Thanks in advance :yay:

Hi there, what time of year are you going? Just to get an idea about how busy the park will be, and to work out what you may want to skip etc.

The good thing about Universal is that most of its attractions appeal to adults and CityWalk is full of lovely restaurants and great nightlife!

I love the water rides, they are truly brilliant. However, I don't know if I would ride them during the winter months - maybe with a poncho.

if your staying at one of the Universal hotels get up and take advantage of the extra hour. hit harry potter world first then make your way back thru the park. make sure to go to the shows...Bettlejuice and the makeup horror show are 2 of our favorties. city walk is fun at nite and the restaurants are all pretty good. have a great time!!!

The water rides are amazing. If you aren't staying onsite bring a change of clothing and leave them in one of the all day lockers at the front of the parks. Otherwise I suggest just trying everything.

Universal is a great park for adults so you guys should have an awesome time. The Wizarding World is a must-see and Forbidden Journey is the park's newest (and most innovative) attraction. After that I'd suggest hitting up the thrill rides and roller coasters (Jurassic Park, Spiderman, Hulk, Mummy)...anything you can't do with the kids so you make the most of your time. Since you can enjoy being sans responsibility, there are plenty of drink stands with beer or fruity frozen drinks you can hit up here and there. It's crazy hot and humid right now so I would definitely hit up the water rides just to cool off. Take a zip loc baggie for electronics like cell phones and enjoy getting drenched in the heat of the day. Make reservations for a nice restaurant at CityWalk to top off the day. Blue Man Group is another excellent choice for your evening activities.

read up on the UO website and see what has changed since you have been there.
lots of great information there on the rides, shows, food places, etc.

No joke about the heat right now. I had sunscreen on, but the sun felt like it was burning through my skin today. I've never felt sun that strong in my life. All it meant was two-or-three consecutive trips on the rapids ride. The attendants on that one are close to knowing me by name, at this point.
