So I'm going to Universal for a day or two during my next trip to the World in October and I was just wondering what rides I should do. I've never been before and I've been to WDW 7 times and have done things multiple times so I thought it'd be nice to go to IoA and US for a day. My mom already bought the tickets where it lasts up to 7 days after the first use. So I can go another day to do stuff I like.

I know that I want to do Dueling Dragons and the Hulk coaster because the only thrill roller coaster I've done has been RNR. I don't really know what else to do. The Jurassic Park ride sounds cool.

So anybody's input would be really helpful.

Is the MIB ride like Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin?

MIB is actaully WAAAY better than Buzz (Sounds blasphemous, but it's true!)

honestly, there's not alot you're gonna want to skip at IoA & US, everything is really fun & entertaining.
at IoA, you can skip the sinbad show IMO, it's a great show, but if you're looking to do mostly rides, skip this show.
at US, all the shows are good. The Horror Make-up Show is my favourite.

And DEFINATLEY go on The Mummy @ US. It is honestly the most amazing ride I think I've EVER been on!

HAVE FUN!!!

Well, if you like Splash Mountain, Dudley Do Right's Ripsaw Falls is somewhat similar (but I find you get a lot more wet) and the Jurassic Park ride. But the Jurassic Park ride is 84 compared to Disney's measley 52.

If you like Kali River Rapids, then Popeye & Blutos Rat Barges are perfect for you. This is the only ride in Universal I enjoyed whatsoever.

Hmmm. Well, Dudley Do-Right has it's strong points and it's weak points to me. The theming and stuff isn't as good as Splash, but the drop is great, especially with that last hill when you think it's all over (probably shouldn't have spoiled that ;) )

The Popeye raft ride is great. You do get utterly SOAKED, no kidding! My mom thinks it's too rough, but I don't think so. I haven't done The Mummy yet, but I hear it's a ride like no other. As well as Spiderman, which I have done. It's a 3D simulator, but your car moves throughout the whole building. It's amazing! The ending is great (this time I won't give it away!) And Jurassic Park is also great, the 85 or so foot drop is by far the best part. And yes, MIB is better than Buzz, IMHO. You compete with the car next to you, which is cool.

So have fun! And give us a full report when you get back! :cheer2:

I didn't enjoy Do-Right's, because I'm just not into flume drop rides. But yes, the theming is great, and I absolutely loved the movie when I was like 5.
My main problem with this ride is: THERE'S NOTHING TO HOLD ONTO but the seat in front of you. And when that material gets wet, it's slippery.

Yeah, that freaked me out a bit! You get tossed around a lot, and you're clinging on to the other seat. I remember that now

::yes::
It's weird when I was like 10 I wasnt scared, but I went like 2 years ago and I didnt want to get on because I was like "What about if I fly off or something?"

But I love the Jurassic Park Ride, its so funny and its the suspense that I love.
Also, the Unicorn Ride is kiddy but its sort of fast and gives you that stomach feeling.
Poseidon is a good show to watch there, I love going through the swirling water thing.
And you have to go on Spider-Man, hands down thats one of my favortie rides.

So is Dudley-Do-Right like Spash? And then Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges is like Kali? Is the Jurassic ride like a mix of the two?

How's the twister ride? I love that movie.

the twister thing isn't really a ride.
it's more like an attraction. it's really neat though.

you stand there and they simulate a twister around you, the queuing area is reallyawesome for that!!! It's like part of the attraction itself!

As for Dudley Do Right and the no-straps/handles...yeah, I totally forgot about that. My 10 year old cousin was pretty much crying the whole way through because she thought she was going to fall out.
It's pretty scary having nothing to hold on to.

Popeye & Bluto....prepare to get SOAKED
n1643550032_5537_1116.jpg

(thats a picture of us after we went on that...[note; the sad faces were just for the picture])
but seriously, you get SOAKED, way worse than kali.

Jurassic Park scared the bujeezus out of me...because I'm really terrified of Dinosaurs....but the drop is awesome, and the ride itself is really neat (if you don't have an irrational fear of dinos!)

Jurassic is like Splash, but 10 times worse.

Twister & Earthquake were lame.
They were pathetic..

Omgosh yeah. My brother and I were in the log and everytime we would drop I felt like I was going to fall out of my seat.:scared1:

Anyway rides you shouldnt miss are the Men in black ride,ET,Jaws,Popeye and Bluto Rapids,The Cat in the hat ride.

Yeah..Thats basically all I go on :p

ITA.

If your a thrill ride person, Islands is going to be you're niche. I suggest The Hulk (consistntly rated one of the top roller coasters...in the world)...Dueling Dragons, and the Dr. Doom thingy. Go on Spider Man....great ride. Skip the Sin-Bad show. It's good, but not a must-see. Skip Posidon too. It's a cool show/ride thingy, but personally I can pass the 1/2 wait in line, and standing for 45 minutes. I also suggest the Cat in the Hat ride.

At Universal, yes, go on MIB. It does kick the crap out of Buzz. I also suggest the Terminator show and ET. Monster Makeup show is a must see. I'm ehh about the Beetlejuice show now. Used to be one of my favorites but they changed the show and now it's meh IMO. I just go to it now to oogle the bride of frankenstien (HOT costume). Twister and Earthquake are meh. The Mummy is a MUST, and Fear Factor live is meh. I also suggest Jaws, but if you don't want to get wet, ask for the first or last rows. There is one row, forget which one, but you get SOAKED on it. Mom and I learned that first hand. Also see Shrek 4D, and pass on Jimmy Neutron.

For Breakfeast Lunch and dinner, the resturanuts I suggest the most are Methos in IoA, The Hard Rock Cafe, and the NBA Cafe. (even if you're not a basketball fan, it's a GREAT atmosphere and amazing food)

Personally, I'll take US > MGM.

Shrek was good.
Jimmy Neutron made my entire family sick (minus me, they're sensitive to 3-D plus being jerked around).

Monster Make-Up is fantastic. The one time we went, he was talking to a woman who could only speak spanish.

Poseidon is a waste of time. Yes, it is fantastic, but the amoutn of time we waited, was awful. We waited for like 30 minutes out int he blistering heat, and then spent another 30 underground, where we couldn't ditch the line because it only went one way.

If they made it more like the Ellen Ride, it'd be a lot better. My biggest problem with it was standing for god know's how long.

I hate waiting for things.
And I hate standing.
Any ride where I get to sit, is a gift.

Yeah ITA Mike, if Posiedon was more like that Ellen ride in EPOCT< I think I'd like it better.
The waiting in line + staning throughout the whole thing + having to transfer rooms is like...bleeeeh.

Okay, so from you guys I got this information:

Skip: Poseidon-- too much standing; Jimmy Neutron

Must See:
MIB-- way better than Buzz; The Mummy; Jurassic Park; Dudley-Do-Right; Popeye-- gets you wicked wet; Spiderman; Dueling Dragons; Hulk; Shrek 4D; Rocky Horror Make Up show.

If the lines not too long: Earthquake; Twister

This may sound blasphemous but I've never seen ET so would I understand the ride?

Also, have you guys ever used the Express Plus? I'm not going to get it because I already have my ticket and I don't want to pay and extra $50 for it. Are the lines wicked bad in US and IoA?

I've never seen ET, and I go on the ride every time.
It's a really cute ride, kinda cheesy and childish, but I love it.
The queuing area once you get inside is really neat as well!

The EXpress passes are the same as a fastpass, so if you're the type of person who NEEDS a fastpass, go for it.
But honestly, I've never seen the need for it, sure lines can get long,
but all the queuing areas are inside (with the exception of a few) and they all having some pretty interesting stuff to look at (especially the mummy!) si i would say don't waste the extra 50$.

Eh.
ET ride was lame. I'm not really into those boring slow rides (I prefer shows).

I don't find the need for the Express Passes. If you get there early in the morning (we've done this before, staying at a pool home, not even close this place) and you do all the biggies first, it won't be too bad.
I mean, one day first thing in the morning, we rode Popeyes 3 times in a row. Only by the third time did the line start to form.
