Hi all,
We are looking at potential options for our Spring Break trip 2012. My son (15) is being confirmed that week so we are celebrating with a trip. One destination he has showed much interest with Universal. We have been there many times and have stayed at all three onsite hotels, and plan on staying at either RPR or PBH on this next trip. Unlike the previous trips, we are planning a bit longer trip. Perhaps, Monday to Friday. We are Florida Residents. My question is what Universal activities can we do on our trip. We are counting on one day per park, so a two day base ticket. I have heard mixed reviews of Universal's offsite Water Park, Wet n' Wild, is it worth it? Should we get the Express for WNW? Oh, and how does the Universal Theme Park + Wet n' Wild ticket work? Does your visit to WNW count as a day or does it work like Disney's water park and fun option. What other things are there to do at Universal? Can anyone help??

This may sound real stupid, but we probably will have my mother (83 but in unbelievably good health) with us. For most of the park days she and my wife will relax at resort. Having her, is it a really a good idea to go to Universal?

I should also mention, I have a 13 year old daughter who loves Universal.

Thanks in advanced for your help!! I really need it!!!

if you know the dates you will stay onsite, i suggest you book your hotel asap.
rooms book up fast for spring break times.

since you will have 3 adults in the room, there will be an additional fee ($15) per night for the extra adult.

When I was checking rates, it seemed to be $25 higher for a 3rd adult.

that is correct.
the 3rd adult in the room incurs a $25 additional room charge per night.

you can have 5 in the room and not additional charges if there are only 2 adults (18 +) in the room.

I go to Universal often with my parents (late 70s) and although they prefer the vibe at Disney over Universal they are just happy to be with us. :goodvibes We always stay at RPR and the lush tropical theme is perfect for relaxing by the pool, but most of the time they to go into the parks with us. They don't ride much, but again they just enjoy watching the kids and tooling around with us even with Mom in a wheelchair last visit. They live close by so they could easily stay home, but prefer to come relax at the resorts and walk the parks with us.

I'd definitely buy at least a 3 day hopper. One day each park and a third day for repeats. I can't imagine being at RPR for an extended visit and only be able to go into the parks 2 days. Have you looked into the FL annual passes? We have annuals (parents FLs) and it is so nice to go in and out of the parks whenever the fancy strikes. The power pass is a pretty good deal unless of course you're going Easter weeks when they're blocked out.

I haven't been to WNW so I can't help you there. Last spring break we went to Typhoon one day and I don't know if it is all 15 year old boys or just mine, but he got bored quick. It used to be one of our favorite all day parks. I would give WNW a try in your case if the tickets aren't that much of an addition.

I wonder if the new minature golf course will be open at City Walk? I know we'll be hitting that as a fun activity as soon as it opens. We'd have plenty to do M-F just hitting the parks at our leisure (we'd go every day for short bits), hanging at the RPR pool which the kids have not grown out of, maybe playing some minature golf and a day at a water park. Full week for sure!
