Is there anywhere you can get US and IOA DVD's. I mean I have one for WDW and Busch Gardens/Discovery etc but there doesn't seem to be any offer of Universal ones. I live in the UK and have never been to Orlando so these would be very helpful when it comes to going.

Thanks

I know they have sold the IOA soundtrack and some others at the stores there in Orlando, you may look up the phone number and you may be able to just order it over the phone. I imagine the main Universal store in City Walk would be a good place to start, some others on here could probably give you the number. Other than that, most large CD stores would have the Jurassic Park soundtrack that is played alot in JP at IOA, but probably not the atual park soundtracks.

Thanks for the reply but I'm actually looking for DVD's about the park, i.e planning kits. I don't know if Universal do them. Years ago there were videos available but I can's seem to find any information on them.

Oh duh sorry, yeah, I'm not sure about DVDs. I do know if you watch the travel channel and/or discovery, that they periodically run documentaries about the parks, I usually tape them when they come on. Also you may look on the discovery channel website, they sell a lot of their specials and shows, they may have the one about the theme parks for sale on there.

I know they made one for a short time a while back. I was bidding on one on ebay before my last trip, but was out-bidded. You could try there. I don't think they have a current one though.

I remember in the 90's they used to do VHS park videos. Does anyone remember those cool Star Trek custom vids? :teeth:

Does anyone know of these Planning DVDS or anything of this matter because it would make planning my trip alot easier so I can see what I would like and what I wouldn't like. My trip is coming up very soon and I haven't planned much!! @_@

Not sure if you mean the same thing, but DH and I have a cool one from 91. You taped everything in a blue room with the guy giving you instructions (Lean, LEAN!), then when you got it, it showed you on all the rides or walking around as a VIP. Boy, I wonder what ever happened to that - would be fun to show our kids now before we go!

The Travel channel just showed the one about Disneys Animal Kingdom again last night, so just keep watching the TC and the discovery channel, if you can't find them on the discovery channels website. They sell a lot of DVDs on there, I'm pretty sure there are some about the parks on there for sale.

Yep, that's the one! There was a studio where you could pick between Universal attractions and Star Trek - we chose Star Trek, it was a lot of fun. And we don't even like Star Trek :rotfl2:

It was great, I think we got ours in 1992. Was devastated when they got rid of that!!

Guess I didn't remember the Star Trek option. Didn't realize they no longer had that either, but haven't been there since 97 and that was with 3 little kids so I wouldn't even have been looking for it then.

Back to the OP's question - I think I will be searching the discovery and travel channel's websites and trying to note and tape any upcoming shows relating to either Universal or Disney. But I have seen several different Disney segments and can't ever remember seeing a Universal one. That's too bad that they apparently don't have a planning video for Universal. Guess I can check ebay too!

Its been a while since I've seen any doc about Universal (year or 2 or 3 even) However, I doubt if the few I'm thinking about were actually titled "Universal" or anything universal related, they just happened to have a bunch about them in the doc. I think the doc was titled something like Scream parks or something, there have been a bunch so they are all running together to me right now. I would suggest just getting anything theme park related and if they are fairly recent they more than likely should have somehting about Universal. The only ones that probably won't are the ones that are exclusively about roller coasters. They may have a blurb about the Hulk but that's all they would have. If it looks like a general theme park (not roller coaster) doc it more than likely should have something about Universal. I'll look over the weekend at that doc I have and get the title and post it next week on here.

Have you check Universal's website: http://www.universalorlando.com? By browsing through their website, you'll come across videos of some of their rides.

Yes, but I don't I've seen any videos and if I did I don't remember too much of it, lol
