If you stay off-site and want to visit Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios while also having one day to just relax away from the parks, how many days do u recommend staying?

Six would be a day each...which should be enough time to do everything.

I'm doing exactly that this week. We're staying for a week - 7 days. With 4 days for disney (each of the parks) and 1 for universal. that leaves a free day (with the exception of going up and coming home days) - which, i've left open at this point. If we get bored, we can go to universal again (i got the weeklong passes just in case). I think this will definately be tiring. but, i figure the only "monster" here is magic kingdom. the rest of the parks, we can kinda take it easy at. it's hard to do everything at the magic kingdom in one day, period.

A lot depends on what time of year you're going. If you're planning on going during peak season you can spend a lot of time waiting in long lines. If you're going during a slower time of year you can get a lot done in a day. During peak season I would allow for 3 days between US/IOA, 2 days for MK, and a day and a half at DHS and AK. Taking one day off would give you 9 days. If you go during a slower time of year you could get each park done in a day with one day off would be 6 days.

Well, I might only have enough money for five. So let me ask you this. If we are going in April but not during a week of spring break. Is it impossible to go to AK and MK in one day?

It's not impossible, but you may not be able to do all of the popular rides at AK or MK.

I know a lot of people on the boards say AK is a half day park, I think that's a bit of a rush and I don't think anyone would tell you that MK is a half day unless all you do is walk around and get lucky with lines.

I was just there this past April and there are still crowds so I don't think you're any better off.

AK is a half day park for us but you might feel differently. Some people say the same about DHS but we usually spend more time there. You should probably plan on two days for the Universal parks and one for MK. The others you might be able to work with.

The problem is that both AK and DHS have attractions that can be difficult to see if you arrive later in the day. You could maybe shoot for a morning at each and then try to keep your afternoons free.
