I'll apologize in advance as I'm sure that this has been discussed extensively here before. I tried to do a search but got the following message:
Sorry. The search function has been disabled by the administrator.
We will be staying at Portafino in Feb for 3 nights and again will be down staying at one of the Marriott's in March. As DVC members, we've concentrated on Disney for a while and want to explore other options at present.

We will be buying the special annual passes for $99 and using them both trips. There are 4 of us including 2 teens. My request is for recommendations for lunch and dinner options at USF, IOA, City walk and the Universal hotels. We're most interested in sit down and counter service with good food and reasonable prices. Cost is a consideration and want to avoid any extravagant places. Any suggestions or direction to websites would be helpful. Also any info related to making reservations would be helpful. I've even looked at several guidebooks for Orlando and none gave enough detail to be helpful (including US with kids).

Thanks in advance.

Your teens would probably like the Hard Rock Cafe in City Walk. A lot of us on these boards are great fans of Mythos in IOA. Very good food and great atmosphere. I also really enjoyed the Latin Quarter in CityWalk. In US we enjoyed lunch at Lombard's Landing.

I second the recommendation for Mythos. Quite simply the best food in any theme park, ever!

I think Lombard's is best for the fresh fish selections.

If you're in the market for a romantic splurge, try Delfino Riviera in PBH. Ask to be served dessert on the terrace (unless it's chilly, of course!).

Thanks so far, just the type of info I'm looking for. I had looked over the info on Disney World, The Online guide which listed many of the restaurants. I also looked at several Orlando guides at Books a million yesterday without much help. The Universal portion os this site is not working yesterday or today.

I guess my first thoughts were Hardrock and Nascar but would like to do something a little more adult during the time as well.

Any discounts for the restaurants there?

Hi Dean!
You can certainly use your AAA card for 10% off meals in the Parks and at CityWalk (same thing with your Annual Pass).
With 2 teens & being on the go, Burger Digs is a great lunch spot at 11:30. You beat the crowds and lunch on the balcony overlooking the Park.... it's wonderful!
But, yes, Mythos is the most delicious of all.... and you would be surprised at the actual cost savings (unless you add a lot of beer/spirits!) compared to other first-class restaurants in Theme Parks.
Jim

Of course everyone knows my recomendation of MYTHOS. you do not expect to find a place of this caliber in a theme park.

If Confisco's is not open then the bar menu at the Backwater Bar is a good choice.

At USF my first choice is the Monster Cafe, but only for the chicken and pizza, and apple pie. The chef salad is also good. My hint for the attention to detail is if they are placing the food on china or plastic. If plastic, bail out for Richter's. or Finnegan's. :smooth:
