I'm looking for a day tour to Universal from Disneyland and I've seen that many on this website suggest Gray Line.
I've checked the website and found that the tour departs at 9:15, while the Universal park opens at 10:00. At what time should I get at the Universal entrance? I would not like to waste precious park time, since I only have one day for this park.

I'll go there Wednesday 6/6 of Thursday 6/7, do you think I'll need the front of the line pass? I've seen the Universal Studios Florida, so I could skip some of the attractions that are in both parks (if any). $46 is a bit expensive, I would like to save it if it's not necessary.

Last time I used that transportation, the times they picked us up were very inconvient. I don't know if it were the time of year or what but they picked us up FROM USH at 6pm. Way too early for me since I like to spend time in the park and afterwards, stroll around City Walk. This time I rented a car for a day just to go to USH so you may want to check into that. I pre-paid and it was $46.66 for 24 hours from Alamo. Yea, kinda expensive but I want to leave when I'm ready, not at 6pm.

bitohoney thanks for the suggestion, I'll check with the site when the coach leaves the park in the evening.
I think that if I factor $20 more than the ticket and $45 more to get also Front of the Line access (needed if I'm staying less than full day), a rented car could became a good idea.

I was worried about the return time as well. I have also read horrid reviews that people got left at the park for getting back to the bus later than the assigned time.:scared1: That's why I have decided to stay at Hollywood for 3 nights in order to take in a full day at USH and tour around the city. It's DD and myself. DH does not want me to drive through busy LA traffic and I don't want to take any chances.

If you are going with the tour, I think it is better to get the FOTL passes. At least you get to ride all the attractions once without any long wait. We are doing the VIP experience so I can ride fav rides more than once without waiting. I think $ is worth the peace of mind. It may be my once in a life time visit (hope not but won't be back soon for sure).

Good luck planning!pixiedust:

We did the same tour last summer and felt it was enough time in the park. We did every ride. Some 2 or 3 times and caught the main shows. We even went to a nice early supper at city walk. It was only my mom and I, didn't have others in our group. I was really worrying that it wouldn't be enough time in the park if we took grayline but it really was, just my opinion though. We actually waited on someone that was running late. Yes everyone on the bus wasn't happy but they were not going to leave them there even though they told us that when we got off the bus in the morning.
