We're planning a trip to Disney World over the 2011 Christmas break. I think we'll arrive mid-day on Sunday 12/18 and leave mid-day on Friday 12/30. We'd like to go to the Universal parks for a day or two during that time. We have Disney down to a science, so I'm not worried about finding good days to visit the WDW parks. However, I'm not nearly as familiar with Universal as we've only been to each park once (and that was before Harry Potter). If we're looking to go to Universal at the least busy times during that very busy period, which days do you think are our best bet?

We did the Disney/Universal trip last year from Dec 14th-28th. From the 26th on Universal was crazy! We stayed onsite so we had FOTL privileges which made it bearable, but go early in your trip if you want to see Potter. With out onsite early entry privileges you won't get anywhere near the Potter area after Christmas.

Your best chances of having an enjoyable visit would be to go before Christmas. The crowds are insane starting 12/26 and unless you stay onsite, you will have little chance of seeing any part of WWoHP.

Universal and most Orlando themeparks are INSANE that week.Disney does not own the market on insane crowds during Christmas.I agree with the others. If you are staying onsite at Universal it makes it a little better.Onsite guests get into WWoHP an hour before the rest of the public.Otherwise you are going to have a hard time getting into WWoHP.I believe they have issued Time stamped tickets for WWoHp During that timeframe and that is a return time just to get INTO that section of the park, nevermind the ride wait times.
