Hi Folks

Quick question for you about Universal AP's....I am going in the summer and hopefully again at Christmas so was looking for a ticket that would do me over the whole period and I thought an AP would work best.

Does anyone have any experience of buying them and using them - or the difference between the Power Annual Pass and the Ordinary one (both would do me - I wondered if there was any real difference....the only one I can see is it would allow me to go during the Christmas period as opposed to having to wait until the start of January.....)

Many thanks! :thumbsup2

We bought an Annual Pass, with no blackout dates, last March as we went twice last year.

Bought it from the gate at IOA.

Universal APs are excellent, you get a host of benefits and discounts, including free parking at the parks/discounts when you buy anything from a watch to an ice cream within the parks and cheaper hotel rates too.

Furthermore they are extremely cheap to renew, just over $100, we intend to renew ours shortly as we are going for 3 weeks in August.

hiya

we ordered ours last october we have the full one with no black out dates, it was really easy to do. just called them and the voucher got sent then got the proper pass inside universal.

the discounts are good too

We bought 1 Premium pass and 3 power passes - we got free parking and 20% discount in the restaurants etc., with the premium pass which made it very good value. The down side of the power pass is the blackout dates - which would include Christmas. If you are going then you might want to get all premium passes.

They are also quite cool , with your picture on ;)

Even if you do not go twice the cheap renewal price still makes them good value for money.

Also, we renew ours by phone. as your number does not change, their computer updates your card on its system so you just carry on using your annual pass. :thumbsup2

Yes that's what we are going to do also. :)

We bought annual passes online for a trip in May 04 as we were going back in Sept 04. We saw a promotion from Burger King where you took a code in when you activated the pass and the staff extended it to a 2 year pass. As soon as we got to Orlando we rushed to BK to get the voucher/code thingy. We also used the passes in May 05, Sept 05 and soon Feb 06. It has been wonderful value.

We use the dining and merchandise discounts a lot. DD liked Barney a while ago and ET and Dora now so we have bought her bits and pieces. Best of all is the parking perk. We hate the parking at Universal so we use the valet. As you get free regular parking with the AP we pay the balance up to valet and it isn't much, less than $10 I think. Definitely worth the convenience.

We love our APs too Mandy, actually we prefer the Universal parking but that may because we have a disabled badge for Joshua, so we are lucky to be able to park in a good spot.
And the car doesn't get red hot from the heat.

Does save a fair bit in parking fees and merchandise, and as I said earlier $100 each to renew is a bargain.
