universal and IOA express pass

Hi: I know it is better to stay in one of universals hotels for the room key access, but the discounted rooms are not available when we are going.

So we have never been before but would like to spend a day there, are we wasting our time with an express pass similar to disney's fast pass, rather than staying onsite and have room key access. We do not need to do every attraction, just get an idea what it is like Thanks

It depends on when you are going to the parks. If you are there during a non-peak time, then you can get through the park with no problems. I know that right now they said that the parks have spead up and have pretty long lines for everything including for express pass.

What are the dates that you are going to be there so we can give you a better idea of the crouds.
