:cool1: Woo Hoo for the single digit dance!

Your room looks very nice!

I have a late flight for my next trip as well. We don't get there until 8:15pm. I don't mind because I am looking at it as we are getting there early since our Disney reservation doesn't start until the next day. But I just couldn't pass up the price on the flight.

I do agree that it can sometimes be hard to settle down when you don't get to your room until 10pm.

Happy Single Digit Dance! We are getting close to ours too and I have done very little planning! I have a few ADRs but I need to start organizing. Today I am cleaning so that is a start.

I like late flights coming home, but I know what you mean about arrival day -

The Quality Inn looks very nice!

Did you book any ADRs (or whatever they call them)?

That is awesome! I'm coming back here to copy that to put on my OWN pre-trip report when I hit single digits! You know.... when I HAVE a pre-trip report! :lmao:

I just found your PTR. We are going to Universal this June. We have visited Universal before but usually just a for a couple of days while doing Disney. This year, it will only be Universal. :scared1: The kids(DH too) have decided they wanted to take a break from Mickey and see Harry Potter instead. Traitors!!! I managed to book POP Century for 2 days before Universal. We won't be doing any Disney parks but I can't go to Orlando without spending time with Mickey. I am looking forward to your trip report. It won't be too long before you are on your way down.

It's like a whole wasted day to me.....if we were staying longer it wouldn't be so bad. Oh well.....we'll make the best of our time.

I have decided that I just don't have enough time to make many plans. I have not made any ADR's. I had one for Ohanas, but it was going to be too hard to get over there for that...and the cost is so high, so I canceled it. I do have a couple places I want to try, and you can walk up to Universal restaurants much easier.

Isn't that so cute.

Welcome...thanks for following along. I thought I would go crazy not seeing Mickey, but it turns out Skip was missing him. So the plan is to head there for part of a day. We'll see how things go once we get there.
I really debated booking Pop, but the cost was going to be higher....and now I wish I would've.

Since you're in single digits and all........ I thought I'd end the day with......

I know yours were a ton more creative. But honestly Jen, you set the bar so high...... I can't even try. I just bow once again to your emoticon greatness! :worship:

WooHoo!!!! single digit dance! Thats a bummer your flight gets in so late that would drive me crazy too.

Thats funny that lima beans are Claires favorite vegetable. Thats the only one I can get River to eat:confused3

Too funny. All my kids love lima beans...because I do and cook them often, BUT I like other veggies too and all my kids had a problem with most others. Michael eats them all now, but as a kid I had to force some of them...and Paige...she only liked lima beans and corn...sometimes she would eat a green bean. :confused3 She's better about it now too though.

I thought I would tell you about my movie likes before I go on to day 2 planning.

As we all know both Disney and Universal are parks that base a lot of rides off movies or TV shows.

I have a few movie series that I just LOVE...I watch them quite a bit...and if they come on TV, I am stuck watching them all day....even though I own the DVD's.
Pirates of the Caribbean is one of those series...and that ride happens to be one of my favortie Disney rides. And if we make it over to the Magic Kingdom, it will be a ride we will go on.

My ALL time favorite movies are the Back to the Future movies. I have a thing about time travel. I was going into my Jr year of highschool when the first movie came out. I saw it 5 times at the movie theatre that summer. I just loved it.

On my 1st (1995) and 3rd (1999) visit to Universal Studios I rode the Back to the Future ride. The first trip we waited 3 HOURS in line in the hot July sun. We deemed it the best ride EVER!!! (I didn't ride it my 2nd trip in 97 because I got very sick after a few hours in the park, so I went back to the hotel to "dye" while my Mom took my kids {Michael and Paige} back and spent a fun day without me.)
This ride is no longer there,(replaced by the Simpsons), but they still have the Delorean and train somewhere on the grounds near that ride from what I have read. So we might have to go and get a picture of that.
I do actually have a picture of myself sitting in one of the Deloreans used for the movies, but it's a polaroid and I doubt I ever scanned it to photobucket.....and I am too lazy to go look for it.

Another movie series I love is Jurassic Park. That movie came out in 1993 and I took Michael to see it (I think he was 4 at the time), he was kind of into Dinosaurs then. I remember seeing the big "veggiesaurs" on the big movie screen and just being amazed at the beauty. Michael said "aren't they beautiful Mom?" And they were. We really enjoyed the movie...even the intense parts. I had put my hand on Michael's leg when the T-Rex was attacking, and he pushed my hand off telling me it wasn't scary....BUT when that Dilophosaurus...the spit dinosaur as we call him now, attacked, Michael was screaming and crying...go figure.
It instantly became a favorite, and though we did see the other 2 movies (and own them) they are not nearly as good as the first. The 2nd one was nothing like the 2nd book and pretty much a disappointment. BUT I still love the movies.
While touring US in 1999 I did see the advertisement in the park for the new Jurassic Park area at IoA and was excited to go back eventually to see it. Well 13 years later I am getting that chance finally. And I can't wait to photograph the area.
I swear every time I hear thunder off in the distance it reminds me of the sound that the T-rex's foot stomps made. In fact last night at about 4 AM I heard thunder off in the distance...and isntantly thought...theres a dinosaur out there.

And I don't think you all will be surprised with my next Movie series favorite....Harry Potter. I own all those movies as well and have listend to each book and tape/CD several times each. The books are much better than the movies, but they did a decent job with the movies too.
This is the main reason I want to go to Universal...along with most eveyone else these days. I can't wait to take pictures of Hogwarts~!

I am ashamed to say that I haven't seen ANY of the movies! :rotfl2: I've seen bits and pieces of pirates, same goes for Back to the future.
Never seen Jurassic park or any Harry Potter! :lmao:
Yip, I go to the parks and do the rides, but the movies :confused3

Jen, I have a few news I need to post on my thread .... guess you will be surprised! :rotfl2: ........ or, since you know me, maybe not! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

OOOh can't wait!

Jen I just read that they were rereleasing Jurassic Park in 3d. I saw it at the movies when it came out. We have the dvd but I'm excited River can see it at the movies now.

We really liked the Jurassic Park part of IOA. They do a little show a couple times a day where they hatch a dinosaur egg. They also had someone walking around outside with a baby dinosaur puppet in their arms for the children to pet. River completely believed it all and still does. They have a huge play area there with caves and all kinds of stuff to climb on it was really cool. Its so big I lost River a couple of times in there. The caves have all these waterfalls and a lot of mist in them. They really are much better than the ones on Tom Sawyers Island.

I loved the Harry Potter land. You really feel like your in the movie. I found it hard to take a lot of pictures there because it was so crowded and its very tight in all the stores there. You have to really look at the windows in all the shops almost all of them have some little animatronic thing going on.

how cool! Claire asked to watch that movie today, so I have to find it and see if she really will like it. I think she'll be fine on the ride though.
I have read some of those things too. I can't wait.

I love all of those movies myself! Jurassic Park is a fav as is the HP movies. I haven't seen 6,7 & 8 yet. I have all of them except for 8, will be getting it also.

I want to see the Harry Potter thing at Universal so much. Someday!

I love limas beans, but they have to be fresh or frozen. Those canned things are terrible!:sad1:
