I am in the beginning stages of planning a trip to Universal for the first time. Please be kind and patient when I ask silly questions. I have reserved a room at HRH (June 3 4 nights using the Entertainment Rate $125). I thought that was a pretty good deal. My HR Department is sending me a Fan Card and I've registered with Loew's for their card. Now my next question is admission tickets. I see on their website they have $89.95 "Five consecutive days at Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and CityWalk. Only Available Online! Save over $150 versus the cost of five single-day tickets! Plus, for a limited time save $10 off the regular Bonus Pass price of $99.95!" Do I dare assume this is the best rate I will ever be able to find or should I continue searching? Your help and guidance would be most appreciated as I ask all the silly newbie questions throughout my planning process. THANK YOU!

First, welcome to the boards!

Second, there are NO silly questions.

Third, I think you are doing a fantastic job of researching your trip so far. That is a great rate at HRH and I think the price for the passes is also great. As soon as we decide for sure we are going this June, I will be taking advantage of the same. Good luck and have fun!

This is my question, too. I'm going this summer and I keep holding out buying those $89 tickets, thinking maybe a better deal will come along. But I think I should just grab those $89 tickets before it's too late. Judging from the advice on these boards, I don't expect a better deal than this.

I can't imagine a better ticket deal then that $89 rate, and the one day price just went up, so who knows how long that 5 day thing will be available? We bought 6 for our August trip.

Does the $89 allow you to Park Hop between Universal and IOA within the same day?

When we were there last year using those 5 consecutive day passes, we went back and forth a couple of times in one day. It depended on the crowds for us. I got them again for this years trip in April. Definately worth the $$! Disney wanted 220 or morefor 5 day hoppers

As long as you have a multiple day pass you are allowed to park hop. The only pass that you can't hop with is the one day one park pass.

Does anyone have the link for the 5 day tickets...thanks...I think I will get these tickets..best price I have seen anywhere..thankss..amy

I tried linking to them to another person (not on this board) and it wouldn't work direct link for some reason. Just go to universalstudios.com, click on themeparks then choose orlando- then click on tickets on the left side of the page that comes up. I believe another page shows up and just click on the tickets part of that page again (in center of page- not on the left side at that point)

We used 5 cons. day passes (only used 3 days of it though- but still saved a little over paying for the 3 individual days) and on the 3rd day went back and forth parks- so yes, you can do that. You just have to get stamped/show ticket also- just like with WDW park hopping.

I'm looking at the annual pass price though and wishing I'd done that instead of the 5 cons. days!! It's a real bargain too! Only $10 more for an annual pass? Hard to believe! If I'd done that... on this trip to WDW this next week I could have went to US/IOA for free! *sigh*
Hindsight is 20/20. If you'd asked me a few weeks ago if I'd be going back even within a YEAR, let alone this soon, I would have said no.

(edited to say I had checked the other day and went to check again... just a glutton for punishment looking at how cheap I could have gotten an annual pass instead of the 5 cons. days one.... and noticed the annual pass page is changed. It's now $10 more -still a great bargain to me! $20 more to get a YEAR instead of just 5 days?!?- and I'm proof positive that you can't always be sure you won't go back in a year's time! Also they had a buy one get one half off annual pass special too- that is gone now.

Just thought I'd mention that because obviously things are changing there..... so you might want to grab those tickets before they change even more!

I have a question. If we're not planning on going down until 2004, and I purchase the tickets now because of the great price. Will those 5 consecutive day tickets for $89. still be good ?

We are going in June and staying at the HRH. Do you pick up the tickets at the park gate or can you pick them up at the HRH? When you buy these tickets online, do you get a confirmation number in case there are any problems at the time you pick up the tickets? Thank you for any insight.

when i bought them this year for my april trip, you do get a confirmation number to use with an electronic kiosk outside the park that will dispense your tickets.

Ref picking your tickets up at the electronic kiosk:

May I add--don't forget to bring the same credit card as you used when you made the on-line charge ....
I don't as a rule carry my AMEX card around with me. I really had meant to bring the same card with me, but I had ordered the tickets a month before the trip and it just slipped my mind in my rush to get out the door. My DH has a card on the same account--so, I figured we could recover. Guess what I found out? On AMEX, even though DH is on the same account, there are slightly different numbers on the cards and the electronic kiosk would not have it.....

So, after standing in the regular line (and then the electronic kiosk), we were treated to standing in line at guest services. While, it wasn't impossible for guest services to fix this oversight of mine, it did take a little while... So, the moral of the story--don't forget to bring the same credit card so you can use the electronic kiosk!

JUst to make sure.. You can get regular tickets if you do not get the electronic kind?? I am going to order on line, I just want the tickets,,, thanksss.amy

Another question... I justed called and they said if I get the tickets mailded to me they are vouchers and not tickets...Is this right... I thought if I got them mailed to me they would be ticketss...anybody get these in the mail??amy

I believe you can get the regular tickets sent to you if you order them from Universal's website. However, you're charged $9 for shipping.

Thanks. That is what I thought. I am planning to have them sent to my house. When I called universal tickets, the person that ansered said he thought I would receive vouchers. I am still confussed. Maybe I will call back. thanks..amy

I ordered tickets online from universal site. I had them sent to my home for a $9.00 shipping fee. You must be at the adress they are being delivered to sign for the tickets. They are the actual tickets, not vouchers. Like you, I wanted them with me before I left for vacation.

Travelwoman,thanks...were your tickets the 5 day consecutive days??thanks...amy
