Space 220 Cancels Reservation?

If it is any consolation, we finally got a ressie for a trip in November and we were wildly unimpressed. It reminded us of the crew mess hall on StarTrek, with mass produced food.
 
I would've guessed most in Disney Springs, but not inside the park. This is good to know.

I’m pretty sure for MK and HS Disney runs all the restaurants.

For AK - inside the park Yak and Yeti is run by Landry’s, and right outside the AK park gate Rain Forest Cafe is also ran by Landry’s.

Epcot has a bunch of restaurants not run by Disney.
 
Just thought I'd chime in. We're going through the same cancellation issue as well. Had reservations for 4/9. We're working with some people over at the Patina Group (they operate Space 220). The problem we have is we made two reservations on separate accounts (but are linked as family in the app) so we were able to successfully rebook one but they forgot we actually had two reservations so we're awaiting news on what they can do.

It's a huge bummer as I was hoping to have my son experience it. It seems like the place is a bit overblown just based on online reviews and opinions but it still would be nice to check it out. We made lounge reservations (stayed up all night to book them) so we could just grab a drink and app, see the place and duck out.
 

Last time we went to Disney we couldn’t get a Space 220 reservation at all, even though we stayed at a resort. Now a few years later we were able to because we had a longer stay (literally our first reservation). Now I get an email from Patina Restaurant Group that they’re going to be closed for our visit in one week. I called Disney and they said that indeed someone did a buy-out of the reservation one week out, even though we booked 70 days out and have a credit card guarantee.

This is pretty frustrating since of course there absolutely are zero reservations available and it was already full on every day and we have dining and rides reserved as well. Disney dining people couldn’t do anything to accommodate for it.

Is this common, and is there anything I can do? It absolutely seems wild that Disney would allow all of us to be kicked out for another buyer.
Was this for May 21 by chance? Epcot is closing at 5:30 for a private event.
 
Just an update. While it took a bit to get responses we actually did get our reservation sorted out. We just had to move our dinner reservation at Via Napoli. Not a huge deal. I felt bad for the people helping us. I’m sure they had no say in the matter and then had this mess dumped in their laps to sort out.
 
They offered other times for us, but those didn’t work with the days we were going to be at Epcot and could move them. Agreed the person working on it tried to be helpful.
 
This was a complete mess. Not only did I get cancelled for that lunch on 4/8 but my 4/11 Lounge dinner just went missing from MDE I noticed a couple days out. No email, nothing. I called and talked with Disney Dining and they couldn’t help and didn’t know why my reservation got canceled. I got a supervisor and case number but nothing panned out and we simply got nothing at either restaurant on either day, no compensation, no apologies, ugh…
 
We used our reservations this Wednesday. All went smoothly and we even had a manager come up to our table to apologize for the trouble and gave my son some collector’s cards.

@schalliol Sorry to hear about your issues. They were so slow in responding I was all but certain they’d mess it up but they came through.
