Has anyone ever heard of the United States Achievement Academy National Mathematics Award? My daughter brought home an envelope with some information about this organization. She received it from her teacher and was really excited about it and thought that she had earned some kind of award or scholarship for being an all A student. Well I looked at it, the front page, and it sounds good with all kinds of congrats and what an honor phrases. Well as soon as I turned to the next page there it is
.the space where you put your credit card #. As soon as I saw it I was suspicious, I thought maybe it was some kind of scam.
Has anyone else ever seen one of these letters or anything like it? It says you can pay anywhere between $15.00 and $104.00 for some kind of personalized biography page in a yearbook. And that with this you will be eligible for educational cash grants and awards. Since when do you have to pay to be eligible for grants? Isnt that kind of redundant? Any my other question, to the teacher, is how did they get my childs name?
Im confused as to what this is all about. All this and shes not even in HS yet.
