united isnt making this easy filing insurance forms

we had to cancel our flight in the middle of feb due to my moms failing health--I filled out all the forms and sent everything in
I get an email yesterday saying they were still missing some things--when I cancelled united they sent an email saying it was
cancelled that was one of the papers I sent in--when I got the email yesterday I had to call the ins com since it didnt say exactly
what they were missing--like cruise airlines --which airlines since we used 2 different ones

so they told me it was united--they were looking for change fees and that the credit wasnt used--since thats what they gave me--but I have a year to use it--someone on another thread said all they had to do was sign a form that they werent going to use the credit and got a refund I wasnt so lucky they said I would get the airline credit after the year--oh well

but back to united what they were looking for wasnt on the cancellation form--I had to hunt on the website and even at that they werent real specific--so I sent in what I could find hoping that will work--

has anyone else had any issues like this were you able to get the credit

just a few days ago our cruise was cancelled by DCL--now Im thinking maybe I should have waited to see what happened but Im sure I would have ended up with the credit with no chance of getting a refund--

air canada has already cancelled the flight we were going to take--united is still holding out

Are you talking about United itself, the insurance company you can purchase coverage from on their site, or the insurance on a credit card? We had a large claim we filled with the insurance on our United credit card, due to a medical emergency last year and I had to submit the same forms several times. It took three months of persistence and weekly telephone calls, but we finally received our money.
 
The insurance we have is with our chase freedom CC. So the refund will come from them and not United hunting through the website I finally found a place where I could send questions so within a few hrs I got a great CS who sent me papers with what I needed DCL how just canceled our Hawaii cruise so now I’ll get the deposit from Disney so now I’ll have to let the insurance know. Man this gets to be such a mess
 

Once you make the claim with the credit card insurance everything can be uploaded electronically and makes everything go so much faster. You also receive notice that they have received the documents. The entire claim can be followed electonically. Print the cancellation policy off the website because you will need it. This is what I filed and they accepted. I kept copies of everything I sent them on my computer so when they repeatedly asked for the same documents I had them at hand and could send them electronically. Good luck, be persistent and you will eventually get a check in the mail.
