What do you think of the United 93 movie?

I know there's been a lot of controversy surrounding it and now that's it's being released in theatres, everyone seems to be talking about it constantly.

You have one side that basically says that it's too soon, too tragic and a disrespect to the passengers who died on the flight.

But then you have the other side (like me) who says that the story should be told. The people on that flight are heroes in my eyes. They essentially ended their lives to save others and without their bravery, many other people could have died or been injured as well. I'm grateful for their actions and I admire them for their bravery. People go to the movies everyday to watch movies that showcase heroes fighting for what's right and here you have a true story of heroes. I think that the movie is a good thing as a way to commemorate their actions on 9/11 and let everyone know what they did to save others.

So what do you think?

I for one cannot see the movie. The A&E documentary was wonderfully done, but it filled me with such deep sorrow I could not bear to go through it again.

I believe that every man and woman who died on that flight are TRUE AMERICAN Heroes and saved hundreds if not thousands of lives by their actions. I believe their story is one of courage and sacrifice and needs to be told and heard. I thank each and every one of them and their families for what they've done for our country. THANK YOU!!!!

I agree with your views on it. The story definately should be told, because those people on that flight are heroes. and no, I don't think its too early. Because if you think about it, there was movies about Pearl Harbor only a few years after that happened. (yes, it's not the same to compare the two, but still... same idea here...)

But even though I feel that way, I will not see this movie. I can not bear to see any pictures of what happened that day, because the live footage was burned into my brain as I watched it unfold live all day in school. And it hit too close to home as my dad works in NYC and I had no idea where his office was in comparison to the WTC.

so yeah. my views kinda controdict each other. oh well...

I will see "United 93". The events of 9/11 hit home for me. My cousin was killed in Tower 2 of the World Trade Center. I'm going to see it to honor everybody that was involved on that horrible day. I am glad that that had the cooperation of the families of the victims for this film, and if they are ready for it so am I.

The story SHOULD be told. I saw another version of it and I relized these people really are American Heros. It was so sad to watch it, but I think everyone should watch it so they can see what the passangers did.

I haven't seen it, but it sounds amazing! I see nothing wrong witrh it! I for one believe that the story of those amazing people should be told!

I agree with everyone elses opinions. I'm not sure where the "too soon" part comes in. It was almost 5 years ago. I personally don't think I will ever watch it. For me, I can't watch reinactments of others pain. But for everyone that can watch this, I'm glad the movie came out.

I think that this movie is going to be incredibly moving. I also agree that the story needs to be told, now. I think I might wait until it comes out on DVD to watch it though, I'm afraid that I'd get in the movie theater and cry for the whole second half of the movie. And I'm not too big a fan of crying in public lol

I think that it is a good idea to make a movie about that and honor those killed on 9/11, I saw the movie that was on tv, Flight 93, and I thought that was very good and it really touched me.

I just got back from the movie and there are no words to descibe it. I went with my brother and sister and I really makes you think. The only thing that killed me was the anticipation of when the hijackers were going to take over the plane (I knew it was coming, but I just didn't know when or how). I didn't cry (I came prepared though, I had tissues in my purse), but you could hear people in the theatre crying. When it was over, I don't think I've ever heard a theatre so quiet when exiting and the whole car ride home we didn't talk. It was a good movie though..

My parents saw the movie earlier today and said they really enjoyed it. They also talked about how afterwards the theater was really quiet.

I've seen all the documentaries and stuff. I'm actually glad they're doing an actual movie in theatres on it. The TV movie was okay, but this one will actually put us in the plane with them or in the room with their families. I think more controversey should surround the fact that a permanent memorial has yet to be put on the site where flight 93 crashed OR where the WTC once stood.

Anyway, the story should really be told. I have a huge goal to be in the first movie they make about the WTC.

9/11 was a tragic event that happened, and most people would want to see how the passengers of flight 93 were heros, they saved more people from dying, 20 more minutes of flying and there would have been more casulties and destoyed landmarks. I still remember the days driving to NYC and you saw those two tall towers, everytime i go I look in lower manhatten and see the place where the towers once stood. United 93 is a movie to see and when the movie World Trade Center comes to theatres, it should also be seen.

I saw the A&E version last night. It wonderfully portraid how the victims reacted. I dont think that it was offensive. So i am goin to go and see the version in the movies. Because what most if not all said people need to know what happened. And hopefully people go to it so that they can honor these american heroes , th truerespect that they deserve.

it would probally be a good movie but i don't wanna see it cuz everytime i see something ;a show or movie or anything that remids me of 9/11, it makes me teary and then i get scared cuz my dad flies a lot and we are flying to WDW in september so it kinda makes me back out!

I think it has been long enough. I can understand why some people would think it was too soon, but the director talked to all the victoms families to make sure it was ok that they made the movie. And a permanent memorial is being built.

That's good. It's sad that so much time had to go by for them to finally build one, but at least it's going up.
