Hi all!

I'm hoping you all can help me with a situation, perhaps one or some of you have had experience in this ...

Here's the situation, the New Jersey Half Marathon (Long Branch Half Marathon) is April 27, 2014, the day after we get off the Disney Fantasy after a 7 night Eastern Caribbean Cruise! :cool1:

Has anyone had any experience with running right after a cruise? Yes, we've done the Castaway Cay 5K, but has anyone done any longer races? Do the "sea legs" bother you?

How about the whole situation of getting off the ship, getting on a plane, getting home, getting some rest (from vacation haha) ... then getting up early the next morning to run?

:confused3

Thanks!

I went on a four day cruise. Got back on a Thursday and ran the Wine and Dine on Saturday. No sea leg issues. race went fine. I did run on the boat during the trip. Not exactly what you will be doing.
Have a great cruise. Loved our trip we took on the Fantasy.

Not to hijack, but this is on my bucket list. How was it?

I really liked it. This was the only cruise I've ever been on. We met local running clubs at the ports of call to run routes they set up for us. I blogged about it here. I used the 1/2 in Juneau for Alaska in my 50 state half quest.

Thanks for sharing! I did an Alaskan cruise about 5 years ago, but I recently came across this one through a running site. My resolution this year is to start on doing a half in all 50 states, and that looked like a great way to do Alaska. I see your other state halfs listed on your blog - I will be saving it to read!
