Union rant

They are making changes at work, one of them is to train people to do basic changeovers that the mechanics do now this is being hooked up to the pay deal. The union felt that they could get a better deal, the original deal was 7% plus 1% above inflation for the next 2 years (they did this last time as well) so because they persuaded the corby factory to vote no, the rest of us was of the opinion of take the money and run. The redundancy package has been reduced from 3 weeks wages per year of employement to 1 1/2 a week and we have lost the back pay which for me would have been about £900 and they are still going ahead with the changes. Wouldn't you think take the changes with the money rather than take the changes without?
 
7% isn't a bad offer. my union is fighting to secure 2.4% :sad2:
 

It's all beyond me but i do know that at DH's work the union has only just agreed last years deal. So maybe this years will be sorted by the end of next year
