Unfair :(

Just for the record I have spent almost 5 hours on the phone with disney trying to get tickets linked to the correct people and my fast passes have vanished at least twice and I had to re do them. All seems well now, but it is rather like i'm waiting in line to use fast pass plus... just that line is on my home phone lol

could you post that again, I think someone might have missed it the first 60,000 times.

Then why are you still arguing the point when it's right there in Print?? Oh I see! because you just like being argumentive, and calling people who call you out rude and ignorant... whose the ignorant one? the farmer trying to pull the donkey to safety or the donkey who is too stubborn to move and gets hit by a train?

The testing process has been anything but smooth.

But I think that demonstrates, largely, why you test with your on site guests, first. You're more "hooked in" to those folks, so easier to "play" with things, to fix Snafu's, during the testing process.

So you are not currently at WDW, but you are upset that offsite guests do not get FP+ and it doesn't matter to you that Disney said it WILL be available to all guests because that is later and not now?

I am also in that situation and will probably use Visa reward dollars to stay onsite one night when we do go this spring, but I am upset because I care about the families who are there now or going soon and had no idea what they were getting into. I'm also upset for all the families planning trips who don't have any information about when and how it will be offered to all guests. Further, people keep posting about how fair/great/awesome it would be to limit FP+ to onsite guests permanently, so other people are going to respond to that.

I was down for ESPN: The Weekend a few years ago. Got to meet Greenie, Golick, Dicky V and tons of other people via my "uncle" (he's not really related, long time friend of our family).

Someday, when I "retire" (in 20 years or so), I want to go work for them in I.T. Heck, I'd clean the floors part time if it would get me some of the perks they get. :)

Yes I'm very lucky to work here! I'm very grateful! Not just for the Disney perks, but for the experience and my co-workers. Everyone is great! PLUS meeting some pretty awesome talent and celebs! :cheer2:

Anyone else find it slightly comical that this enraged poster has gone 2x a year for the past 30 years?

Seems like a strange choice since everything about Disney sucks.

I'm not enraged. I'm disappointed with the way the FP+ is affecting off site guests, and I am discussing why it's not worth it to stay on site despite the so called Disney "Magic" that is basically non existant now.

I was a huge advocate for going to WDW and staying on site. I recommended it to veryone. Families, couples, singles,..EVERYONE...ten/fifteen years ago. But Disney has grown too large, prices have shot up faster than inflation, and service has suffered.

Now I tell everyone don't even consider staying on site unless you have money to burn.

Many posters talk about staying at DVC villas. Well that is fine if you own DVD, especially if you got in early. But even with annual visits we don't think buying a "Share" in a condo is worth it. We have been looking for a home in the Orlando area to use as a rental and then eventually move/retire there. I only hope Disney doesn't continue to decline the way I have seen it over the past 15 years.

This has certainly all been very interesting to read. We started going to Disney 8 months after my husband died, so I get the whole perspective life is not fair thing. We are still new to Disney in comparison to many and what I have found reading here is that while there may be many veterans who will be disappointed, there are likely many others who know no different and are just completely amazed at Disney because it is still well beyond anything else they’ve experienced and it balances out and will probably continue to do so.

Now we have stayed onsite every time for several reasons. One of the main ones being that I like, no I need the option of making that deposit and paying over the time from booking to the deadline. I do like the option of the dining plan. We have used it 2 of 3 trips and we are using it on our next trip, which will our biggest savings yet from using it based on the meals I have reserved.

I also enjoy the break from driving. I drive us everywhere and I have a 40 minute commute each way every day in heavy traffic. I enjoy the Magical Express experience and the luggage service, which it is especially helpful traveling alone with 2 children. Even this last trip when I drove us down to Florida, I parked the van at Pop and didn’t move it again until it was time to go home.

My children just enjoy the whole process. We stay in the Value hotels and their eyes just light up. We travel other places and they like hotels in general, but to them that giant Buzz Light-year is awesome. I can still hear my son during our trip in 2012 saying, “Good morning Buzz” every time we left and “We’re home Woody,” every time we came back. Good times.

It is just 3 of us though. If one day, I am blessed with another mate and he has children I’m not sure what will happen. Not that it is in the forefront of my mind. My daughter has asked as she is addicted to Disney but also asking God every day for a new father. But for now, it’s our happy place and we stay onsite because we like it. I don’t know where all of this fast pass + will go, but I imagine there will still be people who have no idea it exists just like the current system. It’s been around for nearly a decade and a half and I run into someone each trip who has no clue what it is. I feel for them.

It’s going to be about what you are used to and what you expect from your trip and personalities in general. I have a cousin who is married and has 3 daughters. They took their 2nd trip in 2012, after not having been for 6 years. It was the same year my children and I took our 2nd trip. Theirs was kind of last minute and I had planned ours for 9 months. They didn’t get to do much, didn’t go to each park even, but they are the type of family that just loves experiencing new things and being together and thought everything was wonderful…best vacation ever his daughters said. He did joke when we compared notes he probably should have sent his girls with me, but they loved it. Reading here though, I know it was a trip a lot of other people would call a failure.

Tropical storms and all we were ready to plan the next one before coming home from the last one. We have just under 6 months to go, but it's my secret. I can't wait to see my daughter's face when I tell her we are celebrating her birthday there next year. It will be crowded. We'll do what we can. We survived Tropical Storm Debby and then Tropical Storm Andrea was a piece of cake. We won't be home with me busting my behind at work everyday and her busting her behind every day at school. Yay!

Universal Express Unlimited was, for the LONGEST time (years and years), reserved for Hotel guests. I've looked, before...as recently as our trip in December 2012. I'm not sure when it changed, though..as it obviously has. Express was always day guests only (since hotel guests already got Express Unlimited, automatically). I don't know about the Seaworld program. We've never used it. I half suspect that Universal Express Unlimited was rolled out to dayguests as part of the ticket bundle so that those staying at their new "budget" offering would have access to it.

We first bought express pass unlimited in July 2012 without staying onsite.

:thumbsup2

People seem to be forgetting about that word. It could simply refer to the testing phase and special passes, but it leaves a lot of uncertainty.

Like I said previously there is an official response to that wording meaning along the line as cm passes and such, I'm looking it up as we speak.

That's a great Perk!!

Much like Disney, ESPN has gotten worse and I can't even watch that network now. But I have heard it is a decent place to work from a friend of a friend who spent about 10 years there.

You do realize that the cost of admission would just be added to the cost of the room (at probably about 50-100 dollars a day). And every single annual passholder would now have a strong incentive to stay OFF site, since they'd get no benefit from the significantly higher room rates.

We'll be at Pop Nov 30th to Dec 8th. Most nights we're under 100 dollars, a little over on the weekends. Anywhere between 89 to 119 dollars and I'm a happy camper.

And, in my experience, the Pop is priced correctly for the amenities it offers.

I'm an annual passholder, who stayed at Wyndham Bonnet Creek in Sept, so did not qualify for FP+. I saw first hand how FP+ negatively effected my trip (long lines in both standby and fast pass, later fast pass times, and fast passes running out sooner). I already had another trip booked for Wyndham Bonnet Creek (paid in full, so nonrefundable:rolleyes2) for Dec 6th-16th, so this FP+ mess is effecting not one, but two of my trips. For our Dec trip we are paying just $60.00 per night for a one bedroom condo, so less than a WDW Value.

Ask the Annual passholders how they feel about FP+, they're screwing them too

See my post above. Yeah, we feel like we are being screwed. When we booked our trips both for Sept and Dec without knowing our getting FPs would be affected. We spent over $1800.00 for three annual passes and after the fact found out that just because we were staying at Bonnet Creek we were going to have to stand in longer lines just to be able to do less.

Sorry, but that makes absolutely no sense. I can't be bothered to go searching that thread, but if they feel that way, then they have no idea what they're talking about.

Uh, yeah, I do. As an AP holder who chose to stay offsite we are being penalized.

What you and some others fail to seep through your mind that this is only during testing.. I pointed you to a link where Disney THEMSELVES stated that FP+ will be available to anyone with any "VALID PARK ADMISSION".

Eventually yes, but for those of us who booked trips for during this time (almost a year ago), before all this rolled out, we got screwed. They got the money we paid for our APs, it's too late for us to cancel without losing the money we paid for our offsite accomodations, and yet we can't get FP+ either. Unfortunately for us, we planned two trips during this 'testing' phase.

That is unfortunate to say the least, but would you rather them not test at all and roll it out with major flaws that could potentially affect future trips?

Really??? :confused3

Person just tells you how lucky they are to work somewhere and you have the audacity to slam it ?

Nice. :rolleyes2

You wouldn't want to share your opinions about anything else would you? How about the decline of the USPS? :smokin:
