Unexpected trip Jan 3-7

I am driving to San Diego for Christmas and have decided to stay over and go to DL Jan 3-7. I have a 5day hopper pass.
Can any tell me about crowds at that time of the year.
Also, I normally go to WDW and have not been to DL since CA opened.
Are there any special dining experiences that I should look into: such as Fantasmic?
I cannot find a calender of events or time table. Can anyone direct me to where I can find these on board or on other internet website?

Go to disneyland.com and click on calendar. You should be able to plug your dates in and see all the information. As for crowds, it should be pretty low since all the kids will be back in school. For dining I would definitely try to get a ps for Blue Bayou. It is one of our favorite places to go for a nicer sit down meal. At California Adventure we like Taste Pilots Grill for burgers. Our favorite Character dinner is Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel. I am not sure if Fantasmic is happening when you are there. If it is, the dessert balcony buffet is wonderful but very expensive at $50 per person. If they are having the show you need to call and try to make these reservations asap since they have a very limited number of seats. You will have a great time, enjoy!
