HI! This January we're going to Disney World for the first time! I'm 34 years old and have waited my WHOLE life for this! We're staying at AK and are SOOOOO excited! It'll be my husband, two sons (age 8 and 12) and myself. I am determined to have an as close to perfect trip as possible. I'm planning to carry some type of "fanny" pack with a everything from ink pens to band-aids and Imodium AD! Is there anything anyone found themselves wishing they had brought that would've made the day better? Any advise on what type or brand of pack to get. I don't want to take anything too big and have to worry about what to do with it during a ride. Afterall, it's usually Mom who ends up carrying the stuff! Thank you so much for any tips!

Sanitizing hand wipes for those times when you want to snack, but aren't near a bathroom to wash up. Disposable rain ponchos if you're going on any rides that will get you wet (especially Kali River Rapids in AK, but also for Splash Mountain in MK).

A small fleece blanket for cold evenings or sitting on.

tums

hand sanitizer

extra pair of socks (I hate wet feet)

cheap disposable ponchos (jan isn't the rainy season but it rains if a front comes through)

band-aids

ointment

card games to play in line, waiting for a show or parade :sunny: I bring uno.

since you have little ones, a travel size version of etch-a-sketch. They can try and draw what they see.

There is usually about a 20 degree difference between day and night in Jan so layers are a must. Have fun :)

We are going in January too. I'm so glad you are able to make your first trip!! You will love it... even if it's not perfect! How long are you staying?

I have always carried a regulae sized backpack . INC when on vaca. The bag goes with us on rides w no prob, and we always had everything we needed. At times I was even able to help out a fellow mommy by letting them use our sunscreen as they had forgotten theirs or ran out. I couldnt just let someone elses child turn more and more red just because she wasnt my kid :confused3

If you go to walmart and get the bubbles they use for weddings and put a couple sets into your pack they come in great........for some reason no one gets bored of bubbles.
You can use them as you wait, you can use them to cheer a crying kid...even if it is not your own.
Let me say that we were on a boat going from the MK to the WL and there was a little girl 5 seats back crying in hysterics......i started blowing the bubbles for my kids and the little girl started laughing and trying to pop them as they made their way over to her.........the WHOLE boat was thankful, not just her parents!

Ebags . com is having a sale on travel bags. I saw a really cool bag that looks easy to carry. Look at the travel bag section.

What I do is carry a fanny pack with the tickets (easy to get for fastpasses) autograph books and pens. I then give my DH the backpack with camera (his big SLR thats why he carries!) ponchos, water and a little snack. That way all the need to find quick bits I've got and he carries the heavy stuff. :woohoo:
