The DIS never disappoints!Or better yet, give it to somebody or some organization that would find it substantial!

That wasn’t a post auto-generated by the DIS. Further thoughts? The DIS never disappoints!
Did you finally buy a house? That is great!put it toward a survey and a fence for the yard
I find $20 in a jacket pocket and consider it a windfall. Congrats to you for the nice cash find. I would put it in the bank as DH's job is moving out of the country next month and might decide to retire. We don't want to start taking his SS for two more years so we will be living off our savings and my salary for a while. $2500 would at least cover our lake house taxes.I don't care who you are $2,500 is not pocket change. The $2,500 is just what I said it was unexpected, money that I did not expect to get. I asked the question because it is fun to see how others would spend unexpected money. If you had read my second post you will see I don't plan to use it on a trip or other "wants." It is going into savings for needed home improvement/maintenance.
I did! After losing out on the last house I put an offer by just $7,000 I was disgusted with the whole process and ready to throw in the towel and just sign another lease at my townhouse but my grandma offered to let me buy her house. There's some strings attached because I'm buying from family and it needs a lot of work, and it's in my hometown which I was trying to move away from, but overall I'm happy about my decision. We are still in the process of moving and finalizing things, and the house needs a few things fixed before I can get a mortgage on it so we are fixing it up now. I predict it will be a couple months before I will be able to start the buying process, I'm having some trouble finding a reliable handyman to fix the stuff that needs fixed for the mortgage approval.Did you finally buy a house? That is great!
I meant the DIS posters, not the DIS itself. That wasn’t a post auto-generated by the DIS. Further thoughts?
You do realize not everyone is as wealthy as you. To some people 250 dollars might be a windfall.I guess we will have to wait for OP to confirm that.
I wouldn't necessarily equate unexpected money to a windfall.
We got exactly that amount as unexpected money recently and I didn't feel like it was a windfall. It was simply money we forgot we were owed.

Why are you trying so hard to rain on someone’s parade. A lot of us would be thrilled with an unexpected 2500.

Harping? I made two short comments.I'm literally not saying anything. You keep harping on it.
Congrats that’s very exciting.I did! That's what DCLMP does.I'm literally not saying anything. You keep harping on it.
It's better than being mean or bullying. That's what DCLMP does.

If someone is excited about getting 2,500 dollars it just seems kind of pretentious to tell someone that it's nothing. It may be a lot to them. I don't think they care that it's not significant to you. Why even say that? All I did was speak on behalf of myself and suggest that not everyone considers the same amount a windfall. At no point was I mean or did I bully anyone. You seemed to take what I said about myself personally. That's on you.
The only one who was being pretentious is @gmi3804. @DLgal was only responding to gmi3804's comment about anyone thinking $2,500 is a windfall should pay bills with the money. If someone is excited about getting 2,500 dollars it just seems kind of pretentious to tell someone that it's nothing.
