Underwater Disposable Camera?

Lampskies, yes, any(doesn't matter what speed) film in checked luggage will be destroyed by the more intense scanners they use for luggage being directly loaded onto the plane. Never put film exposed or not in checked luggage. You should be safe with film in a carryon, but, if you're real worried you can request hand checking at the carryon screening for any other film. 800 speed is good for about 3 or 4 scans before you're risking it. My personal recommendation is as long as you have time, get the film developed shipboard. They use a quality process and you'll know for sure the pictures came out.

400 with a flash is ok too :) Just 400 with NO flash isn't going to do very well.

We used an underwater camera for about $20. We were able to change film. However, make sure the casing is closed correctly. My dh was in a hurry to get snorkeling at cc and water got in the camera. We knew it was bad when all of the ink poured out of the case. We can laugh about it now.

We just got an underwater case for our digital at a scuba shop for about $44. It works very well so far experimenting in the pool. Although we do have alot of my stomach because I couldn't stay under water long enough to get my face. LOL

I just bought the reusable underwater camera at Target a month ago, and used it to take photos of my dd2's swimming lessons. We got the photos back last night and they turned out pretty well! I was surprised! (the best thing was seeing my dd smiling underwater, when we had to 'dip' her under, after blowing in her face! ;) )

So, now I can recommend the Target reusable cameras!

For our cruise last year, I send my DD & her friend a gift basket from Shirley. She included a Fuji w/ a flash - don't remember what speed, but they worked great!I think it added $10 to the basket. If you are planning a gift basket, ask her about them!

Yes I did get the fuji with a flash at Walmart here in Northwestern Indiana. It came in a two pack, and the camera was green and white. Actually, I baught 4 two packs and let my DD's run wild with them. So between the pools and excursions they couldn't ruin them. We took our digital and regular cameras for myself and DW.

Are the underwater cameras available at Shutters, on board?
