Understanding 2014 banked points restrictions

I have 35 2014 points that we just banked into 2015. I am trying to understand the restrictions on these points. When can I use these points and when do they expire? My use year is October. Can these points be used in the Concierge Collection?

Our next trip is tentatively scheduled for November 2016 so I’m thinking the 35 2014 points will expire long before I use them for this trip. I think I will need to bank the rest of my 2015 points in order to use them for November 2016? I am planning to stay at my home resort of BLT so the booking window will open up in December 2015.

oct 2014 pts that are banked will now be valid for stays from oct 1, 2015 to sept 30, 2016. sept 30, 2016 (for a stay) is the last chance to use them before they expire.

banking has nothing to do with this.

if there is availability, you can use banked pts, sure.

but if you have to cancel a concierge collection reservation, the pts can no longer be used within the DVC system.

yes, the 2014 will expire before that.

yes, you would need to bank 2015 pts before using them in your 2016 UY.

when you call in dec 2015 to book nov 2016, you can use banked 2015 UY pts + current 2016 UY pts + borrowed 2017 UY pts (if you need them).

Can these points be used in the Concierge Collection?

Adding to the above answer you can use points for concierge collection as long as they are points you purchased from Disney or purchased resale before March 21, 2011. Resale points purchased on or after that date cannot be used for the concierge collection.

If you had a a bunch of extra points, you could deposit them into RCI for future use (up to24 months) but 35 points is not enough to bother.
