I assumed, by how he phrased it, that they were kind of like being from a sponsor.

I wonder if the show producers push for that. Every episode, no matter the company, they do something for each of employees in some way...except the one employee who was a terrible employee.

The way I understood it, the mayor was rich, his family was rich, his friends were rich, I'm sure someone could have chipped in for the money. He couldn't use the city's money from the taxpayers, so he asked for anonomous donations, which might even have been tax deductable.

Yeah, I thought it was a hoot that the mechanic just got the heck out of his job!

And the mayor looked better when he was undercover.

What's sad is that prior to watching this episode, I didn't even know who our mayor was. Didn't know his name or anything. How pathetic is that not to even know who your mayor is.
He seems like a nice guy with a good family.

Yeah, I was sad that it didn't go as well as I thought it could have. I thought everything was a little. . . boring? I really do like Cincinnati, but the politics are insane. I guess I felt like the mayor was too detached from it all. He responded to every situation as "The Mayor" (very smooth, very calm, slightly impersonal) instead of as "Mark Mallory". Still, I commend him for doing it and hope it helps somewhere. Aside from the ridiculous weather, Cincinnati is a good place for families IMO.

I also thought it was hilarious that the mechanic retired early

We DVRed it last night and watched it tonight; we were cracking up over how many comments he made about that "flat cat".
