We are making our first trip home as DVC owners in less than 3 weeks! Woo Hoo! Got two quick questions...

#1. In the past (as a cash paying customer at the Poly), we were able to have our room key, park passes AND spending money all on one convenient little Disney Card. Hence no need to carry a wallet or any other form of payment.

Do they do that for us DVCers too?

#2. We are getting a studio...will probably do some snacking in the rooms after the parks are shut but that's about it. Do you still think its worth it to have the Meers car stop at a grocery store?

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, your room ID can be encoded with park pass information and may also be used to charge to the room.

If you are looking for a larger selection for your snacks the grocery stop is certainly worth it...and is already included in the trip.

Enjoy!

Does Meers Transportation stop at the grocery? When we took it, they told us they don't stop. Did something change??

No, Mears doesn't make grocery stops (I missed that in the initial post).

Most of the towncar services will do that and, depending on the size of your group, may be less expensive than Mears.

You might consided bringing non-perishable snacks and cereals along with you. One major savings at the studio is making breakfast in the room.

When I made transpo arrangements I asked for Towncar Transfers and I mentioned Transtar I believe. The CM I spoke to said only Mears does DVC resorts. Is that true? Maybe I messed something up. Do you recommend any other companies.

Mears is the official transportation co of WDW, so they are probably the only one CM's will recommend. We've used Tiffany Town Car in the past to WDW resorts (including OKW) and were pleased. They do grocery stops.

Mears also does town car service, in addition to the vans. It's possible with a private town car they do make a grocery stop, I would ask. I heard one of the transfer companies went out of business after 9/11, it may have been Transtar.
