UnCut and UnPlugged at the WL and Poly: A picture-rific Christmas report! New Day 3!

I loved your little "Nemo" and am enjoying your report. And all the pics too!

We used the dining plan on our two trips to WDW but in 2008 we plan to just pay OOP. We LOVE eating but it is just too much food and we felt compelled to eat appies and dessert and my waistline showed it!

I can't wait for your next installment and I love the pictures too!

My "little Nemo" isn't so little anymore... he's a big boy with a baby-heart.

I love the DDE card over DDP because we also felt compelled to eat all the food they bring you! Especially becuase I was taught to clean your plate (or at least box it up and bring it home)! And, when we would go out to a nice dinner and have wine, we'd have to pay that OOP anyway. Plus, we always had all these snacks and CS points to use up at the end... I was overwhelmed by the work involved! I think it works great for some, but we decided it wasn't for us. :):thumbsup2

Hi there! Your TR title drew me in - two of my favorite resorts and the two I'm considering for an upcoming May trip! isn't the WL just incredible during the holidays? We were there last Dec. and my DS and I spent every evening in front of that little fireplace on the 4th floor reading before bed. :goodvibes

:lmao: "Gas Salad"!!! What is with the Commissary? Everything on their menu sounds so good, but it's never been tasty. :confused3

Enjoying your TR; I'll be back for more! popcorn::

Glad you are enjoying it PrincessV!
WL really was fabulous. I was so sad to leave.... but after stepping into the Poly, I forgot all about being sad!

You know, I had read terrible things about the Commissary, but we just didn't feel like walking to the ends of the park to get chicken fingers, so we took the risk. Big mistake! "Gas Salad" is actually a nice name for it.... there were many worse ones we considered. :P

This is a very good TR!!:thumbsup2 I'm enjoying it very much!! My ticker says "Beach Club" but I really and truly love the WL more than anywhere else. I am determined to change resorts!! My husband wants access to Stormalong bay b/c his kiddos are such "pool freaks"... meant in the nicest way possible of course...but I've done SAB...it's fun and all, but nothing beats the feel of the Wilderness Lodge.

While I absolutely ADORE the food at Artist's Point...best in all of Disney in my humble opinion...I too was a bit disappointed at the slobs that were allowed to just wander in there. I took great pains to dress nicely...to FOLLOW the RULES! And we got seated next to Mr. Armpit Stain in his two dollar hanes t-shirt...uck! Don't get me wrong, I love me a Hanes Tee...but NOT at Artist Point!

You should try the Mushroom Soup next time and the Pork Chop with the Tillamook Mac and Cheese!!!:cloud9:

thanks for the pics, you have renewed my resolve to have WL restored to me!

We definitely enjoyed BC when we stayed there, but WL is totally different! You could always do a split stay... though it may be a bit more challenging with kids. ;)

You do have 7 months to work on him.... ;)

Thanks for the food suggestions! I'll have to save those for the next visit...

Maybe someday AP will either decide to enforce the rules or not call themselves "signature". I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed. (I didn't think I was being too picky or unreasonable!)

Saw your link on the Official Poly thread and decided to take a peek--it was the 'lots of photos' part that got me! What a nice TR you've done! Thanks for the detail. Can't wait for the rest. It looks like you both had a super time.

Your Nemo is soooo cute! I'm glad you like the Behind the Seeds tour last year- we are doing it with our boys this year and I think they'll love it. My kids love bugs, fish, plants (although they tend to just pick and eat our tomatos right off the vine here- can't do that there!) So me thinks they'll just love it. Did you get to set ladybugs free on your tour?

PS- I love that you get dressed up for dinner at nice places- it drives me crazy that some people just don't care. Hello? A Metallica T-shirt is not appropriate dinner attire  - I even dress my little ones up in a collared shirt if we are dining somewhere nice.

:) I need to find a good picture of both my cats to post! Nemo has a "big brother" name Mr. Michigan Mittens (you'll see why in the picture!). Mittens acts like the big brother because he is 2 months older, but now Nemo is the bigger cat!

The Behind the Seeds tour is really great. We did get to do the ladybug release. The only thing that is a bit hard for me is that, because of my background, sometimes the questions I want to ask are a bit beyond the guide's knowledge level. (But that's what happens when you work in the life sciences. ;)) You are your kids will love it! Wait until they see the tomato tree!

Since eating out is one of our major "fun" events (not being real club-goers), we like to make it a special occasion, and dressing up does that for me. :) Of course, it's not just a Disney thing (though they do have a stated dress code). At home, people were crappy clothes to nice restaurants all the time. :confused3 I just don't get it.

It's been a busy week, but I need to get back on the trip report band wagon! Hopefully by this weekend! Pictures of the Poly and MVMCP coming up next!

TiggerAllie- I am enjoying your TR! Glad to hear the DDE worked out well for you, DF and I are about to buy one. Looks like you two had a lot of fun! Can't wait to read more :)

Thanks for the great TR and pictures! I can't wait to read about your Poly experience. Our family is staying there for 8 days in April. We are so excited! :thumbsup2

Bonus: Here’s a question for all you WL experts… does something go in this space? [img said:

I thought it was a very weird space that looked like it was supposed to have a bench or something (like in the Beach Club). Or maybe it’s the hole where there is sometimes the connecting-room door? I don’t know. Please post your ideas!

We were at WL at Christmas...in our room a connecting door was there...which by the way-was NOT sound proof! I could hear our neighbors kid (probaby a 3 or 4 year old) crying, screaming, whining...and then parents yelling at 6am...in the afternoon when we were trying to nap... I just assumed all rooms had connecting doors-! I will now know to request a room w/o a connecting door on our next trip! :thumbsup2

Argggh... you're making me feel guilty!
I've gotten caught up between work and this new website where my friends and I are selling crochet... don't know that it is kosher to post the website here. (shameless self-promotion, eh?)
Anyway, I'm close to posting at least part 2 of day 3.... if not part 3 yet. ;)
So sorry to make you wait!
I must be hanging out with Kimmar a bit too much... :)
