Uncomfortable DU guestion

I'm not sure where to post this, but since I stay on this board and the rewards board, I thought this was my best bet. Here is my problem. I have booked our vacations through Dreams Unlimited. Before I placed my deposit, there was one person that was answering all of my questions and such. She was wonderful. If I sent her an email, she would get back to me in a matter of hours. The longest that I had to wait was one day.

After I made my deposit, I was transfered to another person. That person isn't answering my emails. I have emailed her twice within the last two weeks and she never gets back to me.

Now, I don't want to complain, because what if the lady is on vacation or sick or something. I would hate to start trouble for her!

I don't think this would bother me as much if I had been to WDW before, but I have never been and I know that I can't plan this trip by myself.

What would you do?
 
I would email the original person you were dealing with and tell her that you would prefer to work with her because the new person does not respond to your emails.
 
Both of the above are good ideas. I would just state that you have never gone and need all the help you can get. Tell them that you see all the info on the boards. Just be polite and if things don't work ask for someone else.

Thanks so much to all of you. I really, really don't want to cause trouble!! And was leary to say anything because I don't know if maybe the lady is sick. Thanks again to all of you!
 
I would hope that if someone was sick or on vacation, that they would have someone else available to service those customers. I can't imagine a company putting someone on hold because one res agent was sick or on vacation. I would contact someone else in the organizatio...and complain. :eek:

Hi, I had the same problem when I first was investigating DU, when I went to make my deposit I asked to be transfered to another agent told them that the first gal was not returning my e-mails, they transfered me to another gal who is great, she is going to be gone for a few day's and even wrote me to tell me that,and gave me someone else's e-mail that could help me if I needed until she got back, I'm sure it's like anything else you can't have all good employees, I was very hesitant just like you to say anything and then I thought we were spending alot of money and should get a choice anyway DU was very understanding about it.
 
DON'T SELL YOURSELF SHORT. WITH ALL THE INFORMATION HERE, YOU COULD ALWAYS PLAN YOUR VACATION YOURSELF, AND PROBABLY SAVE SOME MONEY. WHAT BETTER WAY TO GET ACQUAINTED WITH THE WORLD THAN TO DO ALL THE RESEARCH YOURSELF? YOUR HALF-WAY THERE CONSIDERING YOU'RE ALREADY USING THESE BOARDS!!!!! :D :D ;)

I emailed that address, and it keeps coming back as undelieverable due to a full mail box. Is there another address I could mail?
 
I ALSO BOOKED WITH DU BUT I REQUESTED A PHONE CONTACT AS WELL AS A ONLINE PERSON.

SOME SITUATIONS CALL FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION, WHILE THE AVAILABILITY IS THERE AND HAVING A PHONE CONTACT IS IMPORTANT. IF i DIDN'T HAVE THAT CONTACT, MY FAMILY WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ACROSS THE HALL FROM ME BECAUSE WE BOOKED WITH 2 SEPERATE COMPANIES.
 
DU is currently planning my Dec,2001 trip. Today I received an email from Cathy Miller explaining to me that they have been having MAJOR email trouble. Her email is as follows:

Hi Everyone!

If you emailed me between the hours of 10am and 3pm eastern standard time today (01/24/2001) there is a chance I did not get it. The Dreams email account was having some server problems and the emails were lost. You most likely got an error message saying the mailbox was full, or something to that affect.

If you are worried that I did not get your email, please resend it to me. Things seems to be working normally now.

Actually, DU is basically the same as doing it yourself, without the headache! The look for lower prices, make your ps's, etc....and you do nothing but look up your intinerary!
 
Whenever I go on a trip I do my own research. I find the best airline for me and find the availabiliy of a hotel I want to stay at. Then I go to my AAA travel department, give them the info and have them book it for me. The reason I use AAA travel is because they have trip cancellation insurance. In order to get a reservation at a Disney hotel you have to book at least 6 months or more in advance. you never know what could happen.
In 1998 my son got very ill just before we were to leave. I got a note from my doctor and got back the $1000 I paid for the airline tickets. If I did not have the insurance I would have lost the money. It only cost me $35 for the insurance. Best investment I ever made.
I never buy my park tickets until I get to the Disney resort. Once you buy a ticket it is not refundable.

Just letting everyone know that it appears to have been some sort of technical glitch. The lady was reciving my mail, but I was not receiveing her responses. But, I thought it was only fair since I started this thread here, to let everyone know that it turned out to be a problem that did not reflect on the agent. And John has been a great help in getting this sorted out!
