ok just got back from our trip, here are a few things we experienced playing the game:
- the game did not work on IOS (not confirmed), didn't work on our two iphones and loads of other people we spoke to, we personally did not see anyone playing it on IOS, it does show up on the iOS navigator app but it loads and hangs at various stages.
- on android devices, the game is still buggy, bugs are mostly crashes and require restarting app. other times the interactive art/item for the quest does not initiate and after you report it as not working the app will send you to a new location so it can be a bit of a wild goose chase.
- games are mostly gyro based, controls can be frustrating.
- on our sailing there was a final event for the game where all players, regardless of in game progress, were invited to participate in a multiplayer battle hosted at Luna, this was a very nice touch as you experience the "conclusion" of the story of the game on a big screen, and a few other surprises, plus they showed leaderboard/achievements at the end so you might see yourself on the screen.
the only thing that might be helpful to everyone wanting to try the game is to remember to update your navigator app before you embark, if you are not planning on buying WIFI on the ship right away that is, and also turn the game on at least once while you still have internet, on my android device, the game needed to update my "google play services for AR" which was like 50mb.
even with the bugs the game was very enjoyable
