Its the halloween and christmas parties that drive up those crowds in MK sept- dec. MK is the most popular park in the world. I completely understand people not wanting to "burn" a ticket at the MK on a day that it closes at 6 or 7pm. And I also understand people enjoying the parties. Disney needs to either spread Christmas parties more evenly between the 4 parks (or build a 5th gate and spread them even more) Or find a way to offer earlier or later hours to "standard guests" Maybe open MK at 7AM on those party days or push the parties a little later so they can do a standard and a party fireworks show.
Transportation post Fireworks at the MK is ALWAYS a nightmare. In fact, on my last 2-3 trips to MK we left just as the Fireworks were starting to avoid the Mad Rush. (I should mention that we are fortunate enough to have seen them several times already) Something has to be done. The monorail has its own slew of issues. The Ferry boats are reliable but slow. MK needs a 4th transit option along with the Buses, Boats, and Monorail. Maybe they could install a peoplemover or Gondola system around or across the Lagoon?
