If you purchase a room only reservation and then decide to buy APs online can you make FP+ selections 60 days out or do your APs already have to be activated to make FP+ selections?

When I renew our AP, we're able to book FP+ prior to activating them. I don't think it will be any different in your scenario.

AP's can make fast pass selections ahead of time before going to the park and activating. Therefore if you do an onsite stay, you can still make the fast passes, it'll open at 60 days and you'll just activate the AP's when you get to the park (or Disney Springs)

if you AP is linked to your MDE then you can make FP 60 days before your trip if you are staying on site, or 30 days before if staying off site.
