I had sent a contact request via dvcmember.com to add a request to my upcoming DLH reservation (since I couldn't get a GCH studio @ 7 months. I had wanted a request for a "refurbished" room. Here's the response I got:

Since the DISNEYLAND Hotel has assigned the newly refurbished rooms as a different room category (that we do not offer), we are unable to notate your request on your reservation.

That's new...

It sounds like the DLH has said they want more money for those units and feel they can get it. It would be within the rights of the hotel to do this assuming the contract didn't specify otherwise. The only authority they need is that of room assignments to enforce this division.

Yeah, I figured as much. Wonder how that will work as there are less and less "non-refurbed" rooms, though.

Points will go up and you'll have the option of those preferred rooms is the most likely outcome.
