Un-Tangled-Getting My Life Back....PTR!! TR Started! 5/30

Hi Camille :wave2:
Just dropping by to catch up. I love all of the dresses you have picked and I adore your swimsuit. I may have to look into one of those. I love, love, love your new haircut. I am looking at something similar for myself.

Hi everyone! Just dropping to by to let you know I had a wonderful time meeting with Camille on Tuesday, and boy is she sassy and sexy! As the Texan's say: All Ya'll are goin' to be blown away by the big reveal!!! :goodvibes I'll let her tell you about her shopping update, but let's just say it was really fun to get to be a part of it! We met up at Mimi's Cafe then headed to the outlet mall for some shopping - hitting the Disney store first of course. I ended up buying one of the T-shirts she already has, because it's so cute, and we won't be on our trips together! No pics, because, ummm, the reveal didn't happen but this DISmeet really did happen! All too soon, DH came back from his job fair, so we all headed over to a wonderful lunch at Monument Cafe - the atmosphere reminded us of a scaled down Brown Derby! It was delicious - especially the biscuit!

Camille, I am so proud of all your hard work and dedication, and for being healthy for YOU! It is wonderful to see your new confidence and how much fun you are having with all of your shopping and enjoying your success! My "extra" smiley's don't load anymore, but here's a ((HUGE HUG)) from me to you!

Tammie, sounds like a fun-filled day and so glad you got to spend part of it with Camille. :grouphug:

There sure are! DH and I struggled with our first couple of meals in the US. And there is one particular word that you use very freely over there, which means something completely different and quite rude over here! Takes a bit of getting used to :rotfl:

Oh no!! :rotfl: You know I'm going to bug you about telling us what that word is. ::yes:: Give it to us, but you also have to let us know what it means there, Dis appropriate of course. :goodvibes
I can't imagine all the words you hear here and then go home wondering what in the world are they talking about. :rotfl: There are a lot of words said by the British that just crack me up.

Awww. Thank you for stopping by, Jessica. You really should look into those suits, they are a bit pricey, but should last a good long while.

WE are sisters!!:thumbsup2 Just bought my trip swimsuit yesterday!! Glad that is out of the way!!:rotfl:

party::welcome:party:

:goodvibes Alison, your too cute! I'm glad you found a suit you like, it really can be such a stresser looking for a good bathing suit. I'm just so darn glad I didn't have to go to a store and try on a million and one suits to find "the one." :faint: :rotfl:

  Oh my gosh! Thank you so much, Tammie. :flower3: You know how much I adore you and loved getting to meet with you and Jim. I know it wasn't enough time, (it never is no matter how much time we have with one another :goodvibes) but we sure did have a great time shopping, talking and laughing. :goodvibes We're gonna have to do that more often, except next time I'll have to come to you.

Tammie, sounds like a fun-filled day and so glad you got to spend part of it with Camille. :grouphug:

Ms. Kat, it was. :goodvibes We had such a good time catching up and shopping together. I don't have many friends who live close by who like to shop or don't have such crazy lives with kids, this was such a treat.

Oh I'm going to have to be really careful here... don't want to get a black mark next to my name!

Ok, so the word is 'fanny'. And over here it refers to the part on the other side of the body - hopefully you can understand that cryptic clue :lmao:

We actually get a lot of exposure to the American sayings from watching TV (most of our TV is from America), but it's still different in person.

:rotfl: Oh boy!! I guess that would be a bit uncomfortable to hear us using it so freely. :scared:

I imagine so!!

On behalf of all Americans, I apologize for our use of "that" word. :flower3:

Thanks Kathy! It was lots of fun, and over way too soon! With me living closer, we will get to have more of those days!:yay:

I thought that would be it. I have some friends from across the pond on a facebook group - we met here on the DIS and moved over there for privacy. They had warned me about that - we try not to use that word, and of course the "purse" word that goes with it - very often over there.:rolleyes1

By the way Jessica, I want to see pics of the hair cut when you get it. :goodvibes

I had the greatest surprise in the mail today....

I got an envelope from Lana (zanzibar138)!! Alllllllll the way from Australia!!

She sent a bunch of stuff she picked up from the MK, DS and Hollywood Hotel in Hong Kong!!

How cool is that?!? :cool1: I love all the stickers with the characters name in English and Chinese. :goodvibes  It's so cute. My daughter thought it was so cute how the postcard for Grizzly Gulch had all Asian people in it. Of course this would stand to reason, but we're just not use to seeing it. :upsidedow

Thank you so much Lana, I can't tell you how much this touched me. It means a lot you thought of me enough on your trip to bring some things back. If there is anything you'd like for me to get you while on my trip, just say the word!! ::yes:: :flower3:

So glad you liked it :goodvibes It's not much, but I know how we Disney-holics enjoy our pamphlets and maps, and I thought the stickers were cute too. All I ask in return is that you share your and photos and memories from your upcoming trip :thumbsup2

I know, right?!? It was such a great treat to get the mail and see that big envelope!! :yay:

I really did, Lana. Thank you so much. And not to worry, I will share my trip with y'all. :)

What an awesome DIS treat!

It really was. :goodvibes

Sorry it's been so long since I last did a real update. :flower3:

Things here are really moving along, I'm getting down to the wire for our trip and I still have a few things yet to get done.....
I still have some clothes shopping to finish, which I'm sure will come about without too much effort <she says as she crosses her fingers>. Wish I could say the same for the shoes for the Mother's Day dress  I still have the pair I bought with Tammie, but still not sure if they are the one's, it's probably why I haven't shown them to you. I'm starting to rethink the dress and go for something a little more casual, I know I can find lots of cute shoes for something a bit more casual. We'll see.

Since I'm 39 days out it's really starting to set in how close we are to the trip!! Today, as I was doing the dishes I started thinking about being in the parks and the experiences we'll have when we get there. I started getting butterflies of excitement thinking about it!! :yay: That's how I know it's really real and we are not far off from going!! :cheer2:

So far this week has been uneventful with my mom's health and I'm very grateful for that. She seems to be doing so much better, in fact last week when I took her in for a doctors appt., she felt well enough to go to lunch after. It was such a gorgeous day, we really enjoyed ourselves sitting outside, soaking up the sun while we ate our yummy lunches from Whole Foods. Whole foods is an event in Austin. ::yes::  She even bought Mackie the cutest Disney p.j.'s for the trip!!

My p.t. is moving along, although not as fast as I'd like for it to be. I'm still having some troubles, but I know it will eventually come along as it should, God willing. :)

It really is about tying up lose ends at this point. I've been going through my Disney box to figure out if there is anything else we need, the box consists of our ponchos, bags we carry while in the parks (mine and Mackie's baggallini's-Ty's crocs bag), stickers to put on resort windows, bowls, cups for breakfast, air room freshener-
smilie_girl_130-1.gif
, clorox travel size wipes, to wipe everything down once we are in the room. :scared:
Now, before y'all break out the flame throwers ;), I think Mousekeeping does a great job, but everyone has an off day here and there and I don't see any reason to risk being sick on vacation, besides...I doubt they wipe down the phone or the t.v. remote. :sad2: :crazy2: I'm sorry folks, but that is just straight out nasty to think about! :rotfl:
So far all I've come up with that we need is sunscreen, mole skins, hand sanitizer, maybe a lanyard for Mackie (since we have all her trading pins bought) and our Garden Grocer order. :woohoo: Oh! And I still have yet to make her autograph book. I usually put this off until about two weeks out from the trip.
I tried to use one of those personal shoppers to get exactly what I was needing for breakfasts, but they basically shop at one store who didn't carry (on a regular basis) what I needed. So, GG it is!! :) This means I'll be bringing in one of my suitcases some fruit and cereal, sure hope they travel well. :scared:
I think if I pack them into plastic bags and then in a couple of shoe boxes I should be fine. :thumbsup2 Since I'm bringing an extra suitcase for extras on the way back, I think I'll be more than fine. :)

I've broke the news to my hubby on the costs of the trip and now my last hurdle of sorts, is sending in the form letting the school know we'll be taking Mackie out for the trip. She already has her form to take to the teachers to get her assignments and tests (to be done before the trip), so there shouldn't be any issues there. Help me pray and cross fingers this all goes off without a hitch. :)

I think that's about it! I'll of course post my finds and to probably bounce ideas off of y'all about some things, so don't think I'm done with ya just yet. ;)

It seems to me that you have everything under control and are almost ready to go.

I'm glad your mother was feeling well enough to have lunch with you outside...that is a good day. :thumbsup2

So far so good!! :thumbsup2 Of course it might be a different story as time goes on, you know how it is when you think of a million and one other things for the trip as the days get closer.

That day was a really good day with my mom. :cloud9:
One I'll remember for a very loooong time. Just watching her enjoy her food and time outside, when just the week before she didn't want to eat or even leave her bed.
Speaking of mom's, how is yours doing? I hope she's doing well.
