Un-Tangled-Getting My Life Back....PTR!! TR Started! 5/30

we got one of those jumbo fitness balls with DVD workouts man those they hurt you. :goodvibes in a good way...only 20 bucks at target.

4 months ba-by!!!

Okay, it's actually a day shy of being 4 months, but we won't tell anyone.

I'm so excited!! Now that the craziness of the holidays are out of the way, I had to come here and finally do an update!
I had to share with y'all how I've been printing out some of our pictures from our last trip to make our new count down calendar!! :yay: I wanted to get a jump start on preparing for our 100 day mark!!
I did the same picture count down calendar before our last trip, and it turned out so great. Great enough that I've left it up because everyone enjoys seeing all the pictures and say I should keep it up. I'll show pictures once I get it all together. :goodvibes

To give you an idea of what I'm doing....I use a 24x36 poster frame and then use a bunch of 4X6 pictures to fill it up, sorta like this...

DSC02475.jpg
These are pictures from our 2007 trip and my last countdown calendar

Except most of the board is covered in the paint chip Mickey heads that I've cut out.
Scrapbook.gif
::MickeyMo

The Mickey heads are numbered according to how many days we have left before our trip and placed strategically over faces and what not so Mackie isn't really sure what will be revealed!! <thank you Lady Lallie>(doesn't hurt that Mackie hasn't really seen many of the pics I'm using) I'm sure I'm preaching to a total choir here, you get the gist of how my calendar is going to work.

These are from my last Freedom Mickey heist. And no I'm not kidding, I'm pretty sure Dan and Glenn will remember this from Jordy's report.
DSC02138-1-1.jpg

Jordy (jordanyosh~miss you Jordy!!) reported in his own PTR that he thought Home Depot was removing the Mickey shaped paint chips from their stores and replacing them with the standard paint samples, it set off a sort of panic amongst us Disers. :rolleyes1
Needless to say we all had some pretty funny stories to share after we all hit the local Home Depots and got our life time supply of PCMH (that would be paint chip Mickey heads for those novices out there :rotfl: )

Here's the story as I reported it.....Freedom Mickey

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=34647157&postcount=549

Sorry about the missing pics. It was a lot of fun coming back and hearing how everyone went out and got PCMH from Home Depot, Jordan was convinced he was going to take the fall for all our crimes! :rotfl: The funniest part was that no one really told anyone they were thinking about going and getting them until they already had them! I think we were all thinking the same thing! "Must get PCMH's before they are gone!!" :rotfl:
I forget now how many I have. :scared: I just found the bag of them in my room the other day and it really took me back to the funny stories we all shared.:goodvibes

I know I promised an update soon, and this is soooorta soonish :rolleyes1, but not soon enough.
I feel I'm running out of things to write about as I'm about to do my last day PTR update. Maybe y'all can help me come up with some things you want me to report on.
I know as the days get closer and I'm starting to REALLY get into the swing of going on the trip I'll have a bit more to report on. :upsidedow Like what in the world am I going to wear to WDW!! :scared1: When you lose weight consistantly like I have you have no wardrobe......like. at. all. :sad2:
I know I've given all of my trip over to the Lord and I know it will all come together, but in the mean time I'm a bit concerned. Pray people, it would be a really bad to go WDW without clothes! :rotfl: No one wants to see that!! No matter how skinny I get!!

But for now, please be patient with me and know the updates may be few and far between (as if anything is changing ). Now that I say this I'll probably have something to come here and report everyday from here on out. Good things of course. :goodvibes

Love the countdown calendar, Camille. What an awesome idea.

Jordy posted on Glenn's TR right after Christmas as he was available until the 31st (no computer where he normally is).

You could do a one "must do" or "must try" for each day if you want to add some stuff.

Hi Camille -

I keep waiting for an update. I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and I am sure you are in full trip planning mode for your upcoming trip - you must be getting so excited. 4 months! Yeah! :cool1:

Hey, Mary Ellen! Thank you for being so paitent....your wish is my command!! New update, up! :) And yes!! I'm getting really excited!! We had a wonderful holiday season this year! How about you?

we got one of those jumbo fitness balls with DVD workouts man those they hurt you. :goodvibes in a good way...only 20 bucks at target.

Good for you, Dan!! Do you like it? What does Candi think of it?
Since I have limited room in our upstairs living area/makeshift-gym I use that same kind of ball for my weight bench. Since I only do one type of exercise that I'd need a bench for (flys for the chest) I didn't think it was a good idea to try and squeeze in a weight lifting bench. Besides! It helps with building core muscle, the ball stays under my back just below my shoulders and then of course I have my feet on the floor. I don't get as good a range when doing my flys like I can on a bench, eh oh well, works well enough for me! :goodvibes

Why thank you Ms. Kat. :goodvibes The countdown calendar is a lot of fun to make, I get excited seeing all the pictures from our last trip and I get excited at the idea of Mackie taking down the Mickey heads to reveal what we did or where we were.
Yeah, I texted with Jordy back in Dec. when he was on the Dis posting some, I think he even posted here! ::yes:: We texted back and forth some when he was in Southern Calif., for Christmas with his family. :goodvibes I miss him so much, he brought a lot of laughter to these boards.

Oooo! Good idea, Ms. Kat!! I do have a "must do" and "must try new" list already made out for myself, I can share it here!! Mackie and I both made one. :) I think I forget about reporting things here because I think it will bore everyone to death, silly me.

Okay!! I think I have all the pictures I need for the countdown calendar printed out, and now all I need to do is dig out my already numbered Mickey heads (saved from the last calendar-smart me) and put it all together!!

I don't know if I want to wait for the 100 days out, I might put it together now!! :woohoo:

i remember the mickey head heist...i still have over 400 in my posession just can not decide which color i like best for our walls.:rolleyes1

she really enjoys the work out it gives, i have just messed around on it, i used noelle as my free weights, makes for harder bench press as she likes to giggle and wiggle as i lift her...so makes you work that core not to drop her.

:rotfl:

I remember the Home Depot Mickey head fiasco!!! :lmao::lmao:

Jordan was ahead of his time... my Home Depot actually just got rid of their Disney paint section recently. :scared1::scared1:

Good idea for a countdown calendar! :thumbsup2

4 months ba-by!!!

Okay, it's actually a day shy of being 4 months, but we won't tell anyone.

YAY!! Before you know it, you'll be here!

Nice calendar. I didn't know the Mickey heads were gone until it was too late. You have quite a stash there!

Not having anything to wear because you are losing weight is a good thing! Definative sign that you are doing something right.

Oh, the Mickey Paint Chip Heist, I remember it well!

:rotfl:

Too funny, I actually thought of it just yesterday when Eric decided on his own to make himself a countdown calendar for his room. Poor thing it's 359 days long! It was a lot of little boxes to say the least.

It's a good problem to have, the lack of wardrobe and you are smart to wait. It will be worth it, is already I am sure!

Hmm....

a naked Disney World trip? Now that would be a whole other kind of story! :lmao: :lmao:

Sorry, I had to go there.

Hi! :wave2:

Remember me?

I took a little DIS hiatus, and I'm back. Glad to see you're still here, still losing, still planning. I've got some catching up to do but just had to chuckle a little at your last post. I've lost some weight myself and have been doing a big ole closet purge recently. Talk about not having anything to wear! When the clothes are too big and make you look bigger than you are, it's time for them to go! How sad that we need new things... ;)

:rotfl:

:rotfl: I bet that giggly and wiggly weight is the best workout ever. There are classes out there that teach mom's and dad's to use their babies as their weights during a workout. The kids love the attention and the mama's get toned! :goodvibes

I remember the Home Depot Mickey head fiasco!!! :lmao::lmao:

I was wondering if you rememberd this?!? That was a lot of fun! Oooh, they removed the Mickey heads?!? I guess we all got them when the gettin was still good. Thanks Jordy!!

Yes!! Bama kicked some serious butt!! My hubby DOES NOT LIKE Notre Dame. :sad2:

Thank you Michelle, I didn't realize they actually did remove them from the stores. :guilty: It's a sad, sad day Disers.

Not having anything to wear because you are losing weight is a good thing! Definative sign that you are doing something right.

It's a really good sign! :cheer2: I can't even get away with wearing what I had from last summer!! :goodvibes I actually just tried on the clothes from last summer and it's all really big on me. :thumbsup2 I really look forward to getting new clothes, just hoping what I find won't break the bank and that I actually find things I like. I'm pretty sure I'll be okay, like I said, I handed this whole trip over to the Lord. He's pretty good at taking care of his kiddos.

Oh, the Mickey Paint Chip Heist, I remember it well!

:rotfl:

:thumbsup2 Those were some fun times on Jordy's PTR!! :goodvibes

Too funny, I actually thought of it just yesterday when Eric decided on his own to make himself a countdown calendar for his room. Poor thing it's 359 days long! It was a lot of little boxes to say the least.

Awww, that is so sweet, bless his little heart. He's such a good boy.

It's a good problem to have, the lack of wardrobe and you are smart to wait. It will be worth it, is already I am sure!

Yes, truly a good problem! :) Although I didn't really have a choice on the waiting! I did take a guess as to where I'd be for this next summer with some cotton capri's (that I pretty much live in most days and tour WDW in when it's hot), but I only got a couple pair since that's all they had, hoping I'll fit into the medium's I took a chance getting. I was looking in my closet and found four pair of the large I still have with tags on from last year, I don't know why I bought so many , I really tried to buy and wear as few things as possible so I didn't spend needlessly. Guess I missed the boat on that one. :sad2:Hoping I can get away with taking them back and trading them for the med. instead. :scared:

Hmm....

KAT!! Of course I remember you!! Good to have you back! :yay: I've been wondering how your solor trip went, how your shoes held up. You loved the tennies you got before you left, where they the one's you ended up touring in? You'll have to tell me what one's they are again. :goodvibes And yes, I thought someone would get a kick out of me possibly going to WDW nakers.

You just KNOW I was dyin to use that smilie!! :rotfl:

I know aaallll about the closet purge. Ever since I started losing weight I pretty much average a purge about every four months, it's a good problem to have, but really hard to plan for anything coming up since you don't know what size you'll be and wether or not you can buy something now not knowing how it will fit in a couple of months. I'm glad to hear you are getting rid of any clothes that are too big for you, it's a sure fire way to help you stay on track and keep the weight off. I knew when I started this journey I would not be keeping ANY of the clothes I "grew out of". I didn't want anything to fall back on, I wanted this to be the final time I saw any of the clothes I had from before, no matter how cute or expensive they were. I sorta wish I kept a couple pair of something to look back on so I could see how big I was and how much smaller I am compared to it. Oh well! :upsidedow Like you and Cynthia said....good problem to have/darn I have to buy new things.

I love that smilie!

I had an amazing solo trip, thank you for asking.

As it turns out, I'll be having knee surgery a week from tomorrow. I have a meniscus tear in my right knee and I'm in pain pretty much every day, all day. I can't wait to get it fixed. Short orthoscopic surgery, 2-3 days on crutches, and then I should feel like brand new, apparently.

Thank God at the last minute on my solo trip, I decided to take my sneakers. Because I wore them all the time, and they were the only thing I could wear. Also, they are all I wear right now. New Balance sneaks, or Orthaheel (shoes that are made with a built in orthotic) Mary Janes.

I have become officially boring with my footwear. Lord help me. I hope that the surgery fixes me enough that might, just might be able to wear a pretty pair of sandals this summer.

And I apologize, that was much more than I planned to say about that! :lmao:

It is a good plan to get rid of the clothes so you don't have them to "fall back on." I did so well shopping at Kohl's before the holiday. Their clearance was further marked down, and I had a 20% off coupon, so I ended up buying summer shirts for $2 or less per shirt. AWESOME. Some were even .97. :woohoo:

Hi Camille! I've just finished reading your PTR and am subbing to follow along. I am also on a weight loss journey, so I find myself relating to many of your thoughts and posts. I'm 59 days out from my next trip to WDW and while I've been doing well so far (I'm only a month in, but have managed to lose 8 lbs.) I am a bit nervous about my vacation setting me back, but certain foods are just so much a part of a Disney trip, that I know I feel I'd missed out if I didn't indulge a little. I've decided that the best thing I can do is enjoy my vacation, eat healthy the majority of the time and save my "splurges" for my Disney must-haves (Dole Whip, Cream Cheese pretzel, etc.). I figure that way I'll still feel like I've gotten all my Disney favorites but not gone off the rails.

I'm also determined to take advantage of the fitness center at OKW where we will be staying. For me, working out first thing in the morning is the best way to ensure I get it done, and I've decided that as long as I work out in the morning, I'll be fine to have a Disney treat that day!

Congratulations on your weight loss and on your life changes (as you know it's not just about weight, but about finding a newer, healthier frame of mind). I look forward to reading along and celebrating your goals with you!

I love the countdown calendar. Very nice! And I noticed the mickey heads were not in Home Depot anymore. Bummer. But you certainly do have a lifetime supply, so you are good.

I agree - hit up Kohls for left over summer clothes. You might be able to find some really inexpensive shirts and stuff. And having no wardrobe because you're skinny is actually pretty cool.

Love the countdown calendar - what a great idea! Alas, in Australia we have no Mickey paint chips

Great to hear you're still doing well with your weight loss. Shrinking out of your old clothes is definitely a good problem to have :thumbsup2 If you're worried about the impact on your wallet, have you thought about updating your wardrobe from a thrift store until you've reached your goal weight (then you can splash out on clothes you know you'll have until they actually wear out)?

Feel free to post updates on your weight loss journey - I'd definitely be interested to read about how that's going :thumbsup2

Hoping while you are laid up from surgery you'll give us all a little TR about your solo trip. :goodvibes

Ooooh I'm so sorry. I didn't realize you were having an issue, was this a problem before you left on your trip?

Thank God at the last minute on my solo trip, I decided to take my sneakers. Because I wore them all the time, and they were the only thing I could wear. Also, they are all I wear right now. New Balance sneaks, or Orthaheel (shoes that are made with a built in orthotic) Mary Janes.

Hmmm, for some reason I remember you talking about a bright pair of asics that seemed to feel like a cloud when you wore them. I don't remember you liking a pair of New Balance, man was I off! I'll have to go back and look. Shoes are important! Comfy, cute one's that is.

I have become officially boring with my footwear. Lord help me. I hope that the surgery fixes me enough that might, just might be able to wear a pretty pair of sandals this summer.

And I apologize, that was much more than I planned to say about that! :lmao:

Oh my goodness! Don't you even worry about going on too much, this is the thread to talk all you want. I like reading it. :)

Way to go on your weight loss!! :thumbsup2 I think you are smart about not depriving yourself on your trip, I also plan on eating some of the things I eat when I'm there. However I'm not sure I'll be hitting the gym, I decided I'm not sure I can get up for rope drop and do the gym too. Well, see though, as time get's closer I may feel guilty enough that I'll rethink it. I've been tormenting myself about that topic over the last few months, I think it will be strange not to workout that long. We'll see! And yes you are so right it's all about your thinking when approaching the weight issue. Again, welcome and thank you for following along! :goodvibes

I love the countdown calendar. Very nice! And I noticed the mickey heads were not in Home Depot anymore. Bummer. But you certainly do have a lifetime supply, so you are good.

Thank you, Mary Ellen. :) It's been fun getting it ready to be done, I'll report on that here in a few.

I agree - hit up Kohls for left over summer clothes. You might be able to find some really inexpensive shirts and stuff. And having no wardrobe because you're skinny is actually pretty cool.

It's very cool, just a bit nerve wracking since I take forever to find things I like, but I have a feeling since I've given this trip up to the Lord I'll find exactly what I need and at the right price. :goodvibes

Love the countdown calendar - what a great idea! Alas, in Australia we have no Mickey paint chips

I have a few extra's, Lana. :rolleyes2

"Splash out on"...I love that saying! It's fun to see what different says people have from different areas, even within your own country! ::yes:: Actually I've been buying fairly cheap clothes up until now, and as few as possible. It's the all at once that I'm a bit concerned about, I'll pretty much be buying clothes as soon as the spring line hits the store to be sure I'll have found everything I need and have the money to buy them. <cross your fingers and pray!>

Feel free to post updates on your weight loss journey - I'd definitely be interested to read about how that's going :thumbsup2

Well, it's safe to say I didn't make my 75 lb. goal over the month of Dec. :rolleyes2 Turns out December is too hard of a holiday month to get through and try to lose weight. Who knew?!? :rotfl: I found trying to deprive myself during Christmas made me feel resentful so I gave in when I wanted something every so often. I'm about a pound a half away from hitting my next short term goal though so hopefully it won't be too much longer. :goodvibes I'm still hitting my workouts pretty hot and heavy, although the other day I had this sharp shooting pain from my hand into my forearm while trying to do some bi-cep curls, it looks as though I've injured something so I'll have to either go see the doc about it if it doesn't heal up in a week. Or I'll just have to do hammer curls for the biceps until my forearm/hand heals.

Okay! Photobucket was FINALLY back up after being down the other night, so I could finally do my post. :goodvibes

I FINALLY got it done! The count down calendar that is. :goodvibes I finished it the night before but ran out of time to post about it and then the Dis was down before I could get it posted, yes I was up that late.

So this is what I decided to do, I didn't have the heart to take the first calendar/collage apart so....I didn't! :) I ended up going and getting another poster frame to make a new one and I'm taking the older one and putting it upstairs into my other living area where I exercise. Now I'll be reminded all the time about our awesome trips! :lovestruc

This is the first one I made, from our trip in 2007. I got the idea from Lady Lallie (I think that's how you spell her Dis name), except she went one stage further and had her pics made into an actual poster, clever one she is. :yoda:

20130110_011253.jpg

I'm thinking about doing the same thing (make our pics into a poster) with our pictures from every trip and then put them up in the frames in our living area upstairs to enjoy all the time! I couldn't for the life of me figure out what to put up on the walls up there, now I know! (it's only taken me 12 years to figure it out :rolleyes2- you can never say I do anything hastily -now you know why I'm a bit concerned about buying an entire wardrobe just a few months before a trip) It took me three flippin years just to find a comforter for our bedroom, ooooh bother. But I digress!

And this is the new one, for some reason the pics didn't come out as bright as the first one, probably the new printer, or maybe it's just the bad lighting from my camera. :confused3

Trying to get a good angle so as not to get the flash in the picture.

And then with the Mickey heads on it....

What do ya think?!? :upsidedow

I have a few extra's, Lana.

Are you suggesting you might be able to spare a couple for me???

"Splash out on"...I love that saying! It's fun to see what different says people have from different areas, even within your own country! Actually I've been buying fairly cheap clothes up until now, and as few as possible. You don't say 'splash out' in the US? It is funny the different sayings and way of pronouncing things too. When I moved from Perth (west coast) to Melbourne (east coast), there were so many different names for things, and different pronunciations, it was almost like I'd moved countries :rotfl:

Glad to hear your wardrobe is under control.

Well, it's safe to say I didn't make my 75 lb. goal over the month of Dec. :rolleyes2 Turns out December is too hard of a holiday month to get through and try to lose weight.
