There was this one time that we were in line for Splash Mountain. It was me, my younger brother, my aunt, my mom, and my uncle. We had been in line for about a half an hour to forty-five minutes and when we got to the front of the line, the CM that tells you what line to get into was hustling people along. Now usually, due to everyone's size (my uncle is easily 250 pounds, my younger brother was eleven at the time but he was pretty big, and me, my aunt, and my mom are all either a size ten or a size twelve), we are told to sit two to a seat. We always plan this out beforehand. You know, like, I'll sit with my aunt, my mom and brother will sit together, and my uncle sits in the back alone. That way we're not holding up the line trying to decide who sits with who. So we've got it all planned out, and we're all excited to ride because it's our last day in the World and it will the last time we get to ride SM. So anyway, we get to the CM, and she tells us to take rows 3 and 4. We all glance at each other like, "Is she kidding?" But we did what she told us to and went to the rows. When the boat got there, we put the three thinnest of us in the third row, but we were all practically sitting on top of each other. A man that was waiting rolled his eyes at the CM and went, "Do you really expect them to ride like that?" She ignored him, and we climbed back out. My aunt and uncle were like, "We can't fit five people into two rows." The CM hustled us to the side and proceeded to act like we weren't there, and when my mom spoke up, she put her hand in my mom's face, just inches from her nose. She kept telling people row numbers, and we started to get mad because she was letting all kinds of people go ahead of us. We had waited in line like everyone else! And we had tried to obey her, but it simply wouldn't work for a comfortable ride. It was even possibly unsafe considering we weren't all in the boat properly. So then my uncle starts yelling that if the woman doesn't give us a boat, he will make sure she's fired. The CM's all, "I'd like to see you try that."
So then, the CM that's moves the boats forward stops the ride completely, comes over to us, tells us to climb into the next available boat, and then glares daggers at the CM that was being rude. We climbed into the boat, and everyone witnessed the entire thing cheered for us. Once we were settled in our boat, the nice CM apologized profusely and handed us passes to skip the line on our next ride. My mom was practically in tears. After all, it was very embarrassing considering the CM was basically implying that we weren't fit to ride if we couldn't fit in her proposed rows. It was the worst behavior I had ever seen from a park CM.
We ended up using our free passes to immediately try again after we calmed down. The CM was already gone and replaced by a very friendly young girl who gave us the usual three rows. But we still complained about the rude CM at City Hall. Since then, we haven't had any trouble from CM's, but I will NEVER forget that experience.
