Regarding the whole seat thing on busses: why not just remove all the seats to allow for more space.

in fact, just lose the buses in general...what's 10 more miles when you've already walked 15 for that day. It's good exercise.

;) :rotfl2:

Another from me: "Back up and don't try to get on the elevator until others have had a chance to get off!" You're just in the way.[/QUOTE]

This one drives me CRAZY. Elevator ettiquette is not tough, but it's amazing how many people refuse to let people get off the elevator (making more room for them) before barging in.

Had to chime in on that one!

I just got back yesterday with the normal shockers- child peeing in the bushes, changing a toddlers diaper on the ground in the middle of the studios...
The worst was Monday night at Epcot this kid (probably 9 or so) asked the CM how high off the ground he was going to be and she said 40-60ft depending on where you sit. I assume that is the correct answer and the kid said "no way I am riding" so the mother started freaking out. Called the CM all sorts of nasty names and stuff (real mature right?) and saying why couldnt she just keep her fat trap shut... I dont know why she expected the CM to lie to a kid. Well I had been on the ride before and I wanted to reassure them that it was a pretty gentle ride but I kept MY mouth shut when I found out this kid is deathly afraid of heights! He wont go in an airplane, hates climbing things, is afraid of swings... Why the hell would this mother do that to her child?????? If you know your kid is petrified of heights why put him on a ride that simulates hang-gliding?????? And on top of it, why be so upset if you knew that this could be the case??

My un-Disney experience doesn't have anything to do with Disney, but the people I went with. I had flu, but because they didn't want to waste time driving me to the doctor, I had to stay in the room and suffer. I lost about a stone in less than a week, which is quite a lot for someone who only weighed about 9 stone!

I discovered on a later trip that the health centre was directly across the street from our hotel. It would have taken them 5 minutes for them to help me!

It's still Disney, though, so I managed to enjoy the second week when I'd recovered slightly.

I hope you kicked their buts when you felt better! :cool1: I can't imagine being so self-centered that you couldn't take someone to the doctor!!!

The general rudeness of crowds is what gets me. I wish people would go back to "please" and "thank you" I'm tired of seeing people who think they are the only ones that exist on this planet.

Just for future info...if you are staying onsite, all you have to do is call the front desk and they can call a doctor for you. The doctor will make a housecall and show up in your room. Cost is $200. You do have to pay out of pocket and then settle with your insurance later. Still, it is a relief to have that service and we used it last June when my son came down with a 24hr virus. About an hour after the doctor left, he felt LOTS better! Figures! If only I'd waited 2 more hrs to call, I'd have come home with more money! LOL

This past New Year's Eve at Disneyland, I was standing in the line for the Haunted Mansion (it was raining to boot) and this teenage couple in front of my friend and I were full on making out and not trying to hide it...granted, people are free to kiss and such, but this couple was just putting it out there and it was DISGUSTING...I was not a very happy camper >:-E BUT they did stop when they realized I was giving them dirty looks :-)

1. Being yelled at (in language not okay for children to hear) because we had a stroller on the bus. Granted it is a double, it is also an umbrella fold, my husband stands with it towards the back and gets on in back when possible.
Just so you know for the future, except for Guests in wheelchairs (and sometimes members of their parties, if the driver permits), nobody should be boarding the bus through the back door.

1) People with wheelchairs that come up late to the stop and get on first with a group of people and they all get seats and others that had been standing there have to stand. Or the people in wheelchairs that don't even sit in the wheelchair they take up yet another seat.
There's a poll on one of the other Disboards about should there be separate buses for wheelchair Guests, and among the posts is an explanation by Chip and Dale as to why, even if they show up at the last minute, wheelchair Guests board first. Something about if they can't board a particular bus, nobody else can either. And while yes, it's unfair when those Guests' large parties get to board the bus ahead of others too, it's not especially reasonable to expect those parties to split up, either.
As for wheelchair Guests sitting in regular seats, well, that's safer for everyone involved. If the Guest can transfer to a seat, the drivers prefer/encourage that. It's easier and faster to tie down a wheelchair or ECV empty than one with a person in it.

When we got up beside her, she had just run into someone else and I told her she needed to slow down. She said this is the slowest this thing will go-I told her she needed to park it then because she can't drive. Not being disrespectful to old people but she needed some kind of wake-up call.
I think she was wrong. The slowest most ECVs will go is slower than the average person walks.

In one word...smoking....
Please don't smoke in non-smoking rooms
While walking around the park
Waiting for fireworks or parades
Yep....I can say "don't smoke here" in about 12 languages!
Interesting... care to post them all in a new thread? :)

Lack of sidewalks? :)

And now, my recent "un-Disney-like" experiences:
An apparent Paris Hilton wannabe in Epcot, wearing a pink ruffled top and what appeared to be matching bathing suit bottom - with rows of ruffles on the tush...
Two teenagers directly ahead of me in the single riders line at Mission Space - we were in the final part of the line with about twenty people ahead of us, after the point where you hand over your FastPass. After making sure CM was looking, they jumped the railing into the empty FastPass line.
And, at Honey I Shrunk the Audience - the theater was pretty empty, and I'd gotten out of the ECV to sit in a seat for the full experience. A family came down the row in front of me and, with every seat empty, chose to sit in front of me, with naturally the tallest person directly in my line of sight.

I just got back from Disney and the only un-Disney moment I had was one I will never forget. We were waiting for Illuminations to start (this was on Friday) when a big fight broke in the wheelchair section! At first glance we thought someone had fallen but then we saw two grown men were going at it! They were punching each other and wreastled a bit until they both fell into a bushie area. Everyone was screaming for security to come but no one showed. The men got up and I noticed that one of them was a cast member! I kid-you-not, he was wearing his uniform (all white pants and shirt), and from what I heard, they found his name tag on the ground where the two had fallen. After they were separated by other guests, they went at it again and were throwing punches everywhere. Eventually the two went their separate ways and some guests followed the guy who appeared to be a CM. Security showed up about 5 minutes later. It kind of ruined the moment was it was our last night of our honeymoon!

 Wow! If one of them was a cm I sure hope they found his name badge. Whatever went on to lead up to that fight sure wasn't handled properly!

:sad2:
We were entering the transportation center to take the boat to MK. There was a family having problems, so my husband went around them and stepped over the rope laying on the ground. My son (then 8 yrs old), followed dad and the man at the gate began yelling at my son. He told him to wait his turn like "normal" people do. How do you talk to a little child like that. I was extremely angry and told him so. I made sure everyone around me heard. :listen: I believe this was very unDisneylike behavior.

The unfortunate part is that I have seen some "guests" get pretty mean to the CM's especially when they are only doing their job.

That reminds me of unlike disney behavior that happen this past trip in Nov 05.

Spectromagic was starting DH and I stopped along a walk way along a fence like everyone else. Had a very nice CM (think his name was Brian) come up to us and tell us we couldn't sit there as we were blocking the walking path. We didn't mind moving but we talked to him about standing in the street to watch "Wishes" and he said that it would be no problem. We thanked him and started to walk away. He was talking to the next group about moving. They started to give him attitude. Really bad!! We just kept walking and the people finally moved. But no sooner do we turn around and the same people were back there. The CM (Brian) came back again to tell them to move. They walked away and then went right back. They did this 3 times. I mean come on, you can't find another place to stand. If it was that important to watch the parade, they should have found a place eariler. I don't like people who wait till the last minute for the parade and then cut off other people.

I'm sure this was posted before, and I'm sure I'll get grief over my post. But if you want to see a parade and you know what time it starts, then you should at least get there ahead of time to get your seat and not just stand infront of someone who was already waiting. :flower3:

Yeah, that's one of the things that I hate. I wish people would be prepared about the parades. I know there are times that you can't, but come on. Don't cut in front of other people who HAVE been waiting for the parades.

We just returned & again experienced real ignorance and foul mouthed (mostly parents) people a few times. DH needs to use the services for the hearing impaired/deaf. He was using a handheld captioner (provided by Disney!) in a couple of attractions and, probably because of the backlight on it, a few people told him to shut off his video camera, some thought it was a video game,etc.... I can understand other guests not knowing, but one CM in Epcot actually spoke several times over a loudspeaker before coming over to us & realized what he was using...duh!

The worst seems to come out at the larger shows---The Little Mermaid, ITTBAB, HISTK, Philharmagic, etc... We typically (not always) get to enter the theatre when wheelchair guests are seated so that the CM can bring DH the reflective caption plexiglass screen. Of course when the doors open and some people start running for seats it can be quite chaotic. 3 times during this trip we had people attempting to climb over us (sometimes you have to sit in the middle of the row to use it) and then sit right next to us because "we were in "their" seats". Not sure how that works, but I'd love to be able to have my "own" seat. Or stand there & tell us that we need to move down to the end of the row....hello there are 30 empty seats that you just passed, why would you need to sit at the end of the this particular row? I wanted to add that we go during the slowest times so that we are not taking seats in the middle of a completely filled auditorium...at most the shows were 1/3 to 1/2 full.

Thanks for letting me rant!

I remember reading on here along time ago, someone was saying that they'd thought all the people waiting so long for parades were out of their minds, when all you have to do is walk right up 10 minutes beforehand and get a great spot. :rotfl2:

Yeah, however you have to justify yourself.

We always ask the driver, when we get to the bus, if my husband can load in back(if their are no wheelchairs loading). Every driver has said yes, most have said they prefer it!

Thinking back though it was probably good that it hit my DH when it did otherwise it could have built up more speed and the child could have been more seriously hurt.

What a sweet person you must be to think like this! Someone needed to be thinking of the child. :flower3:

I actually think the fact that you "made sure everyone around me heard" was pretty unDisneylike behavior myself. I see nothing wrong with quietly and calmly explaining to the CM why your son went around and stating that you do not appreciate him calling your son "not normal". However doing so in a loud way so you embarass the CM and make sure you "put him in his place" is just as unDisney as most of the things in this thread.
