At the end, you’re waiting for something else to happen then you realize “wait, it’s over?”. Ridiculous. Sad. No thread to tie the various IP snippets together, just “here’s a Disney song”, “here’s another Disney song, this time in Chinese!” No substance to this at all. Also to be clear the show needed to be absolutely amazing to make up for the issues of having the StarGate in the middle of the lagoon all day. I am not an engineer but I play one on TV and I didn't feel like Disney did anything that should not have been possible without those permanent structures, they are permanent to help keep the budget down was my takeaway and why I have a thumbs down view of this currently.

Where were these reported? On this board, the reviews are overwhelming negative, while some liked it.

I might be in the minority here but I liked it. It is a representation of "us". They may be songs from Disney movies but the movies take place in various countries. Though song, we are brought together ❤ There really is a meaning behind this show.

Just remember that because you perceive someone else's opinion, that may differ from your own; as 'negative,' doesn't make it so. It makes it your opinion of someone else's subjective view, which by its very definition is subjective, and therefore subject to each individual's perception in their own reality.

I'm ok with people expressing views that are different than mine, no problem at all with that. Its the constant sarcasm by some that I find irritating (and is technically not allowed on here)

I gotta say, I wasn't feelin' it last night. And that kind of disappoints me.

I was looking forward to it because of the focus on music, but some of those singers were terrible piercing. I just thought I was watching clips of Disney songs and some special effects thrown in. I pretty much enjoy the fireworks and nighttime shows, and this is the first time that I honestly have no driving desire to really see this show again.

Also, the ending was bizarre. I much more prefer that beautiful Epcot song "Promise" being sung as everyone exits the park.

Now that aspect of our visits has been spoiled, for us.

I had hoped for a soul-soothing, inspiring, feel-good show to somehow offset this loss, at least a little. It was not unrealistic if based on several amazing past nighttime fireworks shows and nighttime parades at WDW. Sad to say, Harmonious was too disjointed and in-your-face marketing-oriented to end a day for us well. This is especially so after having the gorgeous view spoiled. All that "stuff" in the lagoon is horrendous, I can't believe that it would be acceptable.

I remember every night of every trip for years and YEARS over tens of trips, maybe a hundred or more, our family would argue about whether we were going to go to MK to see Wishes! or Epcot to watch Illuminations. EVERY night. And we weren't the only ones.

HEA? One and done. I will glance up at the fireworks if we happen to be in MK. The "temporary" Epcot show was a total failure. At least you could buy a beer to get through it. Harmonious is yet another one and done.

The parks have always been about #Feels, and the fireworks were always designed to wrap up your night and to leave you in that mood. That wonderful feeling we all got when Wishes! ended, or as you exited Epcot after Illuminations as "Promise" played throughout the walk out. Gone. And it's a sad thing, people. A very sad thing indeed. What's even sadder is the number of people that will soon never know what it used to be.

It’s entirely possible that your experience is yours and yours alone. Sure, others might share it, many others might not.
People are entitled to love HEA and Epcot Forever and the new shows and feel a magic that is particular and personal.
It’s unfortunate that you don’t enjoy the new shows, but don’t think you are the absolute arbiter of taste in fireworks, or speak for the rest about how to feel when the night ends at the parks

I am the most Disney-positive person you will meet. But this show makes me anything but that

Harmonius has no soul, it has no discernable message, it has zero transition between segments, and it has no climax. It was just a hyper-compressed Disney animation short film collection projected on spraying water.

Maybe it belongs in MK, but I doubt it.

Technically it was great, but I expected that.

I hate seeing myself growing negative feelings toward Disney, but this was truly a horrible step backward from what was a highlight of every evening at Epcot.

Illuminations tugged at my emotions still, after all the years it ran. It had a message about humanity, it was uplifting, it was inspiring.

Harmonious isn’t even close.

That doesn't work for me Wilson. What you say has a nugget of truth to it in that an opinion expressed by someone else can be seen as negative or positive when compared to your wishes or reality. For example, someone might look at the closing of a ride as positive since the ride was horrible and it's making way for something new. Someone else might express that they are disappointed because they liked the ride.

However, there is a definite difference between an opinion expressed as "I liked the show" which expresses a positive thought, "I am not sure.... I will have to see it" which expresses a neutral thought and "everything Disney does it terrible lately" which expresses a negative thought. I think there is an objectivity in that view which Transends an individuals perceived reality and agreement or disagreement with their opinion.

It's very different from "It didn't work for me (implies: but it may for others)" which is more a neutral expression which depends on the individuals reality. Lately the boards have not been rife with opinions of this nature. Many of the opinions reflected are of the variety of "Disney sucks". "Disney is in it for the money and doesn't care about the people". "Everything Disney does lately is terrible, but by the laws of mathematics they are bound to screw up eventually and stumble on something right". These opinions do not attempt to express neutral or objective positivity with subjective negativity. They are clearly meant to express only negativity.

Bottom line.... many on these boards have taken a very negative view and even more have gone out of their way to try to make others who are looking forward to their vacations feel miserable with them instead of just expressing their own opinions and leaving it there. Which is very disappointing in a place where many of us go to celebrate and enjoy what is to us a happy place / memory / area. I do not mind one and done expressions. But lately it's been almost a mission that if someone is happy with Disney, they must be torn into until the aggressors feel they have learned they lesson that Disney is evil.

That is clearly not a subjective view of someone else's subjective view, but pure negativity and we all here know it's not very hard or difficult to find many examples of this.

Based on the stream, I think I will like the show, but I am reserving judgement until I see it in person.
I am of two minds on the stargate. On the one hand, I absolutely agree with you. I prefer to have the lagoon looking clean and pristine and beautiful. On the other, it's been a LONG time since it was that way. I can't believe you never noticed the horrible ugly structures that were in and around the lagoon for illuminiations: Reflections of Earth. It's been really since Illuminations '88 that we have had a "clean" lagoon.

I however am in full agreement that I would love to see some Disney Magic where those structures are hidden underneath the water or something until the show.

Well I for one think it is important to express criticism. Everyone know Disney monitors these boards. I hope they think about what they can do to fix this—perhaps fix the soundtrack with less screeching and more singing (and for heavens sake get rid of that abominable frozen/lion king mash up), and some more original music that evokes Epcot. And definitely more consistent fireworks—half of the show was just screens and wiggly water sprays. And change the ending—ick that “goodnight” is so grating.

I’ve watched the show over and over and read all the comments. I think it is dreadful, but salvageable if Disney listens to the feedback and adjusts it.

Right now, I can tell you Disney has lost at least one ticket sale. I was planning to buy single day tickets before a disney cruise for the whole family to see this show. Now that is a hard pass.

I am not saying you do not criticize. And to be completely frank, I find nothing wrong with your post at all. I categorize the above as the "positive negativity". You express that it did not work for you. You give examples of what did not work for you. You give suggestions on how it can be improved. You note that it has some positive aspects.

Posts of this variety and example are clearly not what my message was responding to.
