Ultimate Planning spreadsheet for the iPad *pdf files coming soon*

I just got the numbers app & started messing with your spreadsheet!!
It's AWESOME!!! :worship:
Now, if I could just figure out how to use it, lol....
But I didn't get the update, so can you please send whenever you have a minute? (email is blueyedwench@aol.com)

Thanks again!!!!!

:yay:

hmm,, for some reason you did not make it to my master email list.

I added ya and will send out the update now.

Sorry about that.

Mike,

What a great effort! Turns out that there isn't much I can use, as I'm so late in my trip, and I've used TripIt to keep track of many of the travel and itinerary details. I did borrow your ideas for the dining plan credit calculator, however. (There's only two of us, so my table is much simpler.)

One thing I do have is a packing checklist. Just a list of things to remember to buy / pack. I also have a table with travel times from our resort to various locations (cribbed from the Ultimate Guide to WDW).

I did use your ideas to help pretty mine up, though. I hadn't realized that Numbers had so many great formatting options until I started digging. I guess that's the trick with context-sensitive menus.

Let me know if you'd like to see mine, and I'd be happy to send it over. And thanks again for sending it to me!

(Side note: I would love it if Apple added the ability to add drop-shadows to text. Would make it so much easier to actually read text overlaid on a photo.)

Thanks for the feedback Rob.

My Packing Checklist is done and added to the upcoming version. I'm sure people will want to add / change the list but that's the fun in planning.

I would love to see what work you have done, so feel free to send it by. You should have my email.

side note:

No kidding, there is so much that apple could add to make the visual aspect of numbers much better. But still its leaps and bounds better then most "excel" programs when it comes to design.

I am thinking about firing up Photoshop to add more design elements to it. But will wait ofr the meat and potatoes of the file to be done.

It confuses me that you get the CA$ label being your located in Canada. I do not get the CA in my file. Are any other Canadians having this issue?
.

Yeah I'm puzzled by that too......It looks like the program defaults to USD when you create a new spreadsheet. There is nothing that I can see that my version of Numbers has CAD$ as default.

Thanks for your hard work with this.....I'm just otherwise giving advice for those who feel inclined to tinker.

Any advice anyone has to add to this thread is great. Keep it up!!

That is indeed puzzling. Mine defaults to CAD but there are no options anywhere that I can find to switch the default curancy. Even my iPhone defaults to CAD. Do you have an American iTunes account?

Maybe some investigation in on the horizon.

I have a Canadian iTunes account...and I tried this on my iPhone and numbers defaults to USD there too. Very interesting but I can't explain it!:surfweb:

Having so much fun personalizing this planner for our trip! Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us......It really brings out the obsessive Disney planner in me! :surfweb:

Ok, so I have an iPad, but not the Numbers app. However I'm not looking to get your app just yet...we may or may not be going back in December, not sure yet, LOL. Anyway, when you push out an update, is it like excel and you'll have to reenter anything you've entered, or is it more like a database and you're just adding/tweaking the forms and such? Just curious.

Glad you like it

What iOS you running? I am running iOS 5 beta 4. Maybe this could be it?

I'm changing things on my end anyways. I may send you a file to test for me before I roll it out.

My trip is coming up in 2 weeks so updates will come after my trip most likely. We will see.

Ok I figured it out!! I went to my iPad settings. In general settings there is an International option. Mine was set to the United States. When I switched it to Canada....the CAD$ disappeared and Canadian dollars became the default!

What I'm sending out is exactly like an excel sheet. Numbers is like excel. So yes, you would have to copy your info over. ( from this point on I will be doing my best to keep the updates substantial to keep data entry to a minimum.)

Well look at that, mystery solved. Good stuff.

I'm still going to format in us funds going forward. Makes the most sense as WDW is in the U.S. This way I can also take into account the extra spacing (US$) so it still looks right for the rest of the world.

Adding my subscription here so I can hear about when/if you get an Android app working. I refuse to go to the Darkside with an i(Anything). Give me my Samsung Infuse and a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and I'm good. :thumbsup2

I do have to say that the app looks amazing though! :worship:

Hello Everyone.

I have put together a quick Hidden Mickey Pin Checklist. I kept this apart from the planning sheet as its a big file with lots of tabs.

I think I got most of the pins. If you have some info on pins I am missing please post here.

Thanks all.
