This is going to be my 8th time going to WDW. I’m planning my Disney trip and want to know—what’s your ultimate must-do experience at the parks?

Are you wanting experiences that are “free” or those experiences that are an upcharge? My free experience is riding GotG—it’s just a ride that makes me laugh and smile the whole time. My “fee” experience is MNSSHP.. it’s my most favorite time of year to go when all the fall decorations are up.

Any of the tours at AK. They are absolutely worth the modest price but we had a real special treat doing Caring for Giants the other day where they actually took us backstage into the elephant barn. That’s something they have never ever done on that tour but due to unusual circumstances they did. I’ll never forget it either.

So many changes I would focus on visiting the upcoming closures and removals of every change announced .
Because years of construction will be the reality very soon.
But riding the train back & forth sounds like something new & fun for MK !

8th trip? You're just a Disney toddler!!! I totally agree with kylenne regarding the tours and experiences at AK - some awesome moments for us on those tours. If you're going in December, the Candlelight Processional is one of our all-time favorite things to do. Pop into the American Adventure to experience the beautiful singing of the Voices of Liberty. Enjoy 'grazing' at one of the many festivals at EPCOT. Do a fireworks cruise one evening..... Many amazing experiences await you! Have a great trip!

Have you watched Happily Ever After from behind the castle yet? You don't see projections, but the fireworks are all around you, it's a highlight of my trips now that I've seen the show so many times. Sometimes if it's not a super busy time of year there are characters around, I've only caught them there once but it added so much to the night.

I've been fortunate enough to do Dining with an Imagineer at the Hollywood Brown Derby and the Keys to the Kingdom tour - both were outstanding and I would highly recommend.

I think dinner at Victoria and Albert's counts as an "ultimate" WDW experience but I can't speak for myself on that one yet.

It depends on what your idea of a "must do" is. I have been going since 1983, at first only once every other year, the last 10 years or so at least 3 times a year. My "must do" is going to be totally different than someone's who doesn't go as often. For me, there really aren't any. I'm not ride centric so there aren't any rides if I don't ride will be a total failure. I do ride Living with Land and SSE just about every trip. I think my must dos are to just enjoy the parks and take my time and actually immerse myself in the details. I love to walk the trails at AK and go slow and look at all the things. I love to wander around the countries at Epcot and just get a drink and sit and soak up the details. At HS I almost always ride ToT at night and almost always go to HBD Lounge and just people watch. At MK, I love to get there slightly early, go back to FL and grab and chicken biscuit and coffee at the Westward Ho cart and sit on one of the platforms, eat my breakfast and watch the park open up. I have done a number of the extra things through the years and enjoyed them all, including dinner at V&As. I think next trip I'm going to look into the guided tour of AKL, its free and looks interesting.

Have you done a VIP tour yet? They are pricey but definitely one of my favorite ultimate must do items!
