I have been playing around with various scenarios (VIP guide, dessert party, etc) and I'm still undecided. It will be my husband's first trip to WDW and the first time for all of us to see the parks at Christmas. I would love any and all ideas of how to make this a super memorable experience. We are staying at YC and have free dining.

Ideas wanted on how to make this the ultimate Christmas visit to WDW...

There is a December thread you might consider looking into...

I can think of a few things
MVMCP
Candlelight Processionsl at Epcot
Minnie's Holiday Dine at Hollywood and Vine
Resort hopping for their decorations

Those are all Christmas related but there are of course so many things to experience I really can't even think of them all... You mentioned dessert parties and things like that so maybe some non Christmas specific but still amazing experience I've heard of are (if money is no object in some cases):

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/tours.htm
The link is a list of all those backstage tours
There is also fireworks cruise
And always make use of your dining time to add to the experience

Also consider purchasing the memory maker to have access to all the wonderful photos you will take.

Happy Planning :)

VIP guide would be awesome or a backstage tour. We did the Christmas party last year, sadly the whole thing was meh. It wasn't the weather or crowds or anything we could put our finger on, it just wasn't impressive it was OK. I wouldn't recommend MVMCP, we were really looking forward to it because we did the Halloween party years ago and thought it would be similar. We did tour the monorail resorts the day of MVMCP and that was cool to see them and free.

We were thinking to do MVMCP our first night but I'm hearing mixed reviews. Thanks for the feedback.
As far as tours, we will be doing the Wild Animal Trek also, the CP and resort hopping as Karla suggested.
Anything I'm missing? I know it will be very crowded...

As others have suggested, the resort decorations are always a must when we visit at Christmas time. It's a treat to walk into each resort and see the magnificent lobby trees, the trains, the gingerbread houses, all themed to that particular hotel. The monorail is a fun way to see those around the lake. And don't miss Animal Kingdom, Wilderness Lodge, and Beach and Yacht Clubs. Spectacular!

Hi! I have a December 26-January 1 trip planned since January and I had no idea about the December travel thread. If I dont follow the link, where can I find it?

Thanks so much!

Not sure if I'm understanding correctly but you were trying to find it without clicking the link is that correct? If that's the case then when you get to the page with the forums you click on the "Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies" under the Disney Trip Planning forums section. Then click on the link called "Doing the Happy Dance!" and it is the first thread on that page :) hope that was your question if not I'm sorry lol. That's also where you will find more specific dates for example I'm going the first week of December and there is a thread specific to that since we have special issues with pop warner you might be able to find something specific to new years.
Happy Planning :)

I'm going to offer a counter to the above poster (with no disrespect - everyone has different likes/dislikes) regarding MVMCP. My wife and I were lucky enough to do MNSSHP and MVMCP in the same year. We thought the Halloween party was "meh" but we LOVED the Christmas party. I would highly recommend it especially if going for an ultimate Christmas vacation.

Also, if you're not tied to the YC, I would look into switching to Wilderness Lodge - there's nothing as stunning as their lobby at Christmas.

If you are actually going on Christmas Day bring patience and go early.

That was exactly my question. I would never think to click on Happy Dance. Thanks so much!!! This is very helpful.
