VeganCupcake, a sorta OT question for you: did they serve you a special meal at the 'Ohana breakfast? Because it is the least vegetarian-friendly character breakfast, in my past experiences. What food did you eat there? Thanks!
)OH YEAH! If my husband didn't have to go to "work"(lame) the next day(we live in west palm beach) we seriously would've just stayed another day to eat here again. It was awesome, Chef Stephen told me they now have a standard vegan breakfast they make you, it was the bomb diggity! It was sauted tofu with peppers, mushrooms, asparagus, potato wedges and more! I wish wish wish I had taken a picture!!! (next trip I guess) It was a big portion and Chef Stephen Came over more than once to make sure I liked it, and then to ask if I wanted more. I called a week before and spoke to a chef, and they told me they have a fridge just for veg stuff(tofu etc) now and they are equipped to make a vegan meal at any time. I went on December 16th. Just try to call ahead of time and talk to a chef, I'm a bit shy when it comes to that stuff, but hey, they're going to get my money wether the meal is awesome or not so it's definitely worth it.
Question?? Why are Breakfastes so popular?? If your on the Dinning plan aren't the lunch and dinner meals a better value?? Isn't the morining the best time for getting things done in the park with less crowds?? I would think lunch and dinner times would be better meal to sit down for?....

In 2009, we liked getting an early start on the day and not staying out too late at night. We had an 8am character breakfast at Animal Kingdom's Tusker House and finished right at 9am when the park opened. We were right by Kilmanjaro Safari. We had character breakfasts at about 8am at Ohana (Polynesian) and 1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian) and still got to Magic Kingdom or Epcot not too long after park opening.
I like other places for dinner - the signature restaurants, places in Epcot, and some other favorites. For that reason, we always go to Crystal Palace for lunch not dinner. I wish there were more character meals at lunch because it's sometimes hard to pull children away from rides/attractions for a "boring" table service meal. We would be happy with a quick breakfast in our room before going to the parks.
On the other hand, the promise of seeing characters at breakfast might help some families get the children up and moving faster in the morning.
