Hi
I know this questions been asked before so my apologies, I have not long till my wedding and here in the UK the tipping culture is still only the reserve of the restaurant/hairdressing industry

Without wanted to offend, who should I be tipping at my intimate wedding, I assume not the photography (Randy Chapman) but am I supposed to tip the officiant and the violinist and the wedding co-ordinator, and what is the going rate........ Does this mean either my husband to be or myself have to remember to carry cash!

Should I buy gifts instead?

Any help would be appreciated
Thank you
Sharon

i am in the same situation bacjk in the UK, and if any of you hardcore disney-ites out there can help that would be great!

me too - back in the uk, don't know who to tip??!! I think you usually buy your wedding co-ordinator a gift or get vouchers maybe???? Can anyone help!?

Okey Dokey well I'm a Brit who got married at Disney this year so I hope I can help:

Wedding Co-ordinator/Event Manager - you can give them Disney Dollars or a gift basket or something else, maybe something from Harrods (buy at the airport before you leave). It's not supposed to be more than $75 but I've known past brides who have given more.

Cosmotology - I gave $20 to each person that worked on us both at the trial and on the day

Carolyn Allen - for dress steaming I tipped her $20 as she did an excellent job and even pressed my BM's dresses and was gonna press all my evening dresses for the cruise but I told her that wasn't necessary.

Officiant - Again we gave an extra $20 with the payment to our officiant but you can also give a gift if you'd prefer - you don't have to tip your officiant at all this is personal choice.

Disco/Musician - If you thought the DJ or the musicians were particularly good then by all means tip away - we gave $30 to our DJ

Servers (custom Wedding) - Even though service is included if again you feel that the servers did a REALLY good job you can tip them - we had 2 waiters and 1 bar man and they did such a wonderful job and really felt part of the whole wedding reception - we gave them each $15

We had Randy and Stan and as they own their own companies we didn't tip - but we did include them in our favours.

All of the tips that I gave were discretionary - I've known past brides to tip more or less or even nothing. I would sugggest that you only feel obliged to tip if you feel you have received good service.

Just remembered to add that we put all the tips into cute little envelopes that I'd made and I carried them in my Bridal Bag - this was a bag that I gave to a friend to look after and had make-up supplies, headache tablets, hairspray, cell phone etc in.

Thanks Fantasia Sam, I think you have come to my rescue a couple of times.......

I think the idea of the envelopes is fantastic, I had be umming and ahhing about gifts as opposed to a cash tips but I only have 4 days in the US before I marry and luggage allowances in the UK (with all my bits and pieces anyway) its not a lot my options are limited, however I may have a look in Gatwick for some last minute gratuities

I only have 5 and a half weeks to go and I am so excited, Disneyworld has become a regulart port of call for Mark and I over the last few years (I worked in Orlando for a while back in 93) and it is fitting we have chose here for our wedding I can't think of anywhere else I want to be on this special day

Thank you once again
Sharon

Also if you are having limo drivers they as well should be tipped. 10.00 each limo driver is plenty.
I also made pre-made envelopes that I decorated with a Cinderella theme and had the names of each person that I was tipping tucked away in my purse as well this was a great tip given by the wonderful Unofficial Disney Wedding Guide
Envelopes made should be to:

Limo Driver
Cosmetology Hair
Cosmetology Make-up
Officiant
Carolyn Allens
DJ
Servers
Characture Artist (everyone tipped him at my wedding)

I also gave a gift to my SM and EM this is done to your disgression anything goes.
