You can use your blue badge at the Parks and on property (hotels)

I don't know about DTD

While many guests from the UK use their own badge, I prefer to get a temporary US badge, and you might want to apply for one too if you intend to go outside WDW (malls and such)

The application is fairly simple

You need to send an email to sjewell@osceola.org

in this email, provide :

- the disabled person's full name and adress in the UK

- Phone and email contact

- Adress while in the US (hotel or villa)

- Date of arrival in Florida

- A copy of your disabled permit (blue badge) front and back

- A copy of your passport (Bio page)

Then you will receive a confirmation that your documents have been received.

You will then need to phone the osceola tax office (you'll be given the number) and you will need to pay over the phone ( $15 for issuance + $2 fee for credit card payment unless it has changed since last augus )

DO NOT SEND YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAIL WITH THE EMAIL AS EMAIL IS PUBLIC RECORD IN FLORIDA

your florida red (temporary) tag will be shipped free of charge roughly 1 month before departure and will be valid for 90 days (mine was sent sept. 4th for a departure oct 9th

for the record here is the mail you get once you sent your documents

Please be advised that all correspondence should now be directed to me at sjewell@osceola.org or Holly at hmccommon@osceola.org . We are now handling issuance of temporary parking permits to out of country residents. We look forward to assisting you in your needs. If you are unable to reach us or do not receive a response within 24 hours, please email webinfo@osceola.org or call our main office at (407) 742-4000.

Hello! We have received your documents to process a temporary permit for your visit to Florida. In order to complete your file, payment is due. $15.00 in US Funds -- Money order, check, or debit/credit card (American Express, Discover or MasterCard) is acceptable. There is a 2.5 % service fee if using credit or debit card. (If you wish to mail a check or money order, please make payable to Patsy Heffner, CFC)

Unfortunately, we DO NOT accept VISA. If you do not have a MasterCard, Discover or American Express, you may have a friend or family member call our office with card details to make payment. It will be required for them to email or fax authorization to make payment.

I have been using my brothers one "Irish one" with no problems for the parks no problem. We have been using it outside parks malls food places ect with no problems also. I use to always get the tempory one but the last time I got one they told us we couldn't have any more as we excided the amount they give I just think the person who delt with us hadn't a clue but we got it in writing off her.

Looks like we can now use our own one found this 4th paragraph once it's in English your good to go :)

If you are a visitor to Florida and from another country, you can use your out of country parking permit. However, if your out of country permit is in another language and law enforcement cannot recognize the permit, you may need to obtain a temporary parking permit while in Florida by presenting a copy of your current out-of-country parking permit, proof of identification such as a passport to verify ownership of the out of country permit (a Florida driver license or ID card is not required), and $15 fee at a county Tax Collector's Office in Florida.

We have used our UK badge with no problems both in the parks and shopping malls over the last 12 years. The first time we went we were advised to buy a temporary badge which we did but after speaking to a couple of policemen over there we were told to use our regular badge but hang it from the mirror.
