-it will be the end of our Disney experiences.
What would you have Disney do? Shut down their Cruise Line again? The pickins are getting a little slim for places to dock. Disney had decided that their strategy would be back and forth the Castaway and now the rug has been torn out from under them. I had very early on said that I thought this would be their early on model. Short cruises to a controlled environment.

I hope that they didn't lift that idea from me. Seems like they might have, as one time I said "You know Disney could charge for these fast passes and make a fortune" I better make myself a tinfoil hat.

Then, for the love of God, stop posting these ideas you have. ;) Between all this uncertainty with our cruise and the whole Genie thing, this week has been really difficult for me and my Disney-obsessed daughter.

If Disney mandates vaccines for children. We are done. Not another Disney dollar spent. We've cruised 5x on Disney across Europe/CA/Mexico/Caribbean. Our daughter worked as a CM in their college program, we are all in agreement-it will be the end of our Disney experiences.
DCL is subject to any vaccine requirements imposed by foreign ports. Cruisers can either follow policy or defer cruising.

We should do a dinking game...every time we get an email from Disney, but it ISNT telling us about the new protocols...drink!

I just stumbled on the Palo thread about this Balsamisc Grande...I was going to have one on the ship in 2 weeks, but I might have to make my own this weekend!
That is our favorite drink! We’ve made them at home but they don’t quite taste the same as when we’re on the ship. Needs some Disney Magic. 😉

I totally agree with you 100%. I also feel bad for the cruise lines(not Disney, they'll be fine). The cruise lines are trying to survive, but they are going to be hurt no matter what they do. Mandating vaccines will hurt them financially and so will not mandating vaccines.

The cruise lines are going to have a hard time attracting first-time cruisers after all this. It's going to be a rough few years. I have a hard time believing the CEO's when they say sales are through the roof. I know they putting a positive spin on things so their stock doesn't tank.

So in 7 weeks vaccines will be available for 5-11 year olds. Will the Bahamas change their requirements again?

So for perspective after 17 months of being shutdown the first DCL sailing back was 8/9 under the business model of sailing to their controlled environment private island. It only took 10 DAYS for the 8/19 rug-pull by Bahamian Govt with this new order.

Then you might just be done with cruising for now. They all seem to be falling in line at least for now.
Situations are so fluid. Hopefully will get better so everyone can cruise. Right now many are unhappy.

Where did you see that? All I read is that it could be possible. I haven't read anything for sure it will.
I'm sure they are trying to move as fast as they can...but that in itself can be problematic

Well did my research this evening.

Our other option is possibly doing a Eastern Caribbean on Celebrity on the Edge. We will wait to see what Disney is going to do but hopefully they release Monday morning like they did the bombshell for the Fantasy.

We did a Pacific cruise on the Celebrity Eclipse. Other than the hard sell to eat in the extra cost dining rooms, it was a very nice line.

Like I said who knows what’s going on behind closed doors. I can’t see the Bahamian government pulling out the rugs on companies listed under their flag who Brings them billions. My gut feeling is the cruise lines want this and are pushing it behind closed doors. From a liability and a safety issue I can see Cruise lines needing a fully vaxxed cruise For those high risk groups that have a potential of actually getting sick and needing medical care that is not available on a ship. That’s basically most adults . If you want more than three night closed sailings and return to full Caribbean, transatlantic this would have to be the way forward.
